Hearing Aid Compatibility (HAC) Device Listings The standard for compatibility of digital wireless devices with hearing aids is set forth in American National Standards Institute (ANSI) standard C63.19. M4 is the superior/higher of the two ratings. T-Ratings: Devices rated T3 or T4 meet FCC requirements and are likely to be more usable with a hearing device’s t-coil than unrated devices. T4 is the superior/higher of the two ratings. These ratings are not guaranteed. Results will vary depending on the level of immunity of your hearing device and the degree of your hearing loss. If your hearing device happens to be vulnerable to interference, you may not be able to use a rated device successfully. Trying out the device with your hearing device is the best way to evaluate it for your personal needs. When some wireless devices are used near some hearing devices such as hearing aids and implants, users may detect a buzzing or humming noise. Some hearing devices are more immune than others to this interference noise. Wireless devices may also vary in the amount of interference they generate. The more immune the hearing aid device is, the less likely one is to experience interference noise from the wireless device. Hearing aid devices may also be rated. Adding the ratings of the hearing aid and the device can predict the usability of the two devices together: Any combined rating equal to or greater than six offers the best use. Any combined rating equal to fi ve is considered normal use. Note for models tested under 2007 C63.19 Version: These models have been tested and rated for use with hearing aids for some of the wireless technologies that they use. However, there may be some newer wireless technologies used in these devices that have not been tested yet for use with hearing aids. It is important to try the different features of these devices thoroughly and in different locations, using your hearing aid or cochlear implant, to determine if you hear any interfering noise. Charge the battery with a CT50 charging device for a minimum of 4 hours . Using the computer while charging the battery significantly increases the time required to reach a full charge. Caution: We recommend the use of Honeywell accessories and power adapters. Use of any non-Honeywe ll accessories or power adapters may cause damage not covered by the warranty. Dolphin CT50 model computers are des igned for use with the following charging accessories: HomeBase, Ethernet HomeBase, ChargeBase, NetBase, Quad Battery Charger, Vehicle Power Adapter, Vehicle Dock, and USB Adapter. Caution: Make sure that all components are dry prior to using the computers and batteries with acce ssories. Using wet components may cause damage not covered by the warranty. Turn Power On/OffTo turn the computer on:• Press and release the Power button. To turn the computer off:1. Press and hold the Power button until the options menu displays. 2. Touch Power Off . 3. When prompted to shut down the phone, touch OK . Note: You should always power off the computer before removing the battery. Sleep Mode (Suspend Mode)Sleep mode automatically turns the touch panel display off and locks the computer to save battery power w hen the computer is inactive for a programmed period of time. 1. Press and release the Power button to wake the computer. 2. Drag the toward the edge of the display to unlock the computer. Adjust the Display Sleep TimeTo adjust the amount of time before the display sleeps after inactivity: 1. Touch All Apps > Settings > Display > Sleep . 2. Select the amount of time for inac tivity before the display goes to sleep. 3. Touch Home icon to return to the Home screen. Turning Airplane Mode On/Off1. Press and hold the Power button until the options menu displays. 2. Touch Airplane Mode to toggle the mode On or Off. Note: When Airplane Mode is turned on, shows on the status bar. Scan a Bar Code with the Scan DemoNote: For optimum performance, avoid reflections by scanning the bar code at a slight angle.1. Touch All Apps > Demos > Scan Demo . 2. Point the CT50 mobile computer at the bar code. 3. Touch Scan on the touch screen or press and hold a Scan button. Center the aiming beam over the bar code. 4. The decode results appear on the screen. How to Use the Color Camera1. Press the Camera button or touch Camera on the Home screen. 2. Select either single photo mode , video mode , or panorama mode in the viewfinder. 3. Point the camera lens at the object you want to capture. The camera lens is located on the back of the computer. 4. Touch the blue shutter to capture a single photo or to start capturing a panoramic photo. In panor ama mode, continue to slowly sweep the camera lens across the entire scene you want captured. Touch the red shutter to start recording video. Select the shutter again to stop recording. Restart the ComputerYou may need to restart the CT50 computer to correct conditions where an application stops responding to the sys tem or the computer seems to be locked up. 1. Press and hold the Power button until the options menu appears. 2. Select Reboot and then OK . To restart the computer if the touch panel display is unresponsive:• Press and hold the Power button for approximately 8 seconds until the computer starts to reboot.
