OK # Non-Conformity or Co mment Submitted Response Respondent / Date of Response X 1 The form 731 application lists FCC ID:HD5PDT7850 while the label lists FCC ID:HD57850LOE. The users manual also clearly lists two individual labels, one for WLAN FCC ID:H D57850LOE and WLAN+BT FCC ID: HD57850LPE. Please confirm which ID information is correct for this configuration under this application.. Confirmed two FCC ID’s will be required. ID’s will be: HD57850LPE (WLAN and BT) And HD57850LOE (WLAN only) Cetecom 10/17/06 X 2 Please confirm whether multiple F CC IDs are required. The present application is only for a single FCC ID. See above. Cetecom 10/17/06 X 3 Please confirm that the requested information for temporary confidentiality may be released for public inspection on 11/10/2006 Applicant requested to remove temporary confidentiality request. Cetecom 10/17/06 X 4 Please provide an updated temporar y confidentiality letter incorporating reference to DA04-1705 See above Cetecom 10/17/06 X 5 Please clarify maximization of portab le equipment; in acco rdance with ANSI C63.4, preliminary testing for portable equipment requires investigation in three orthogonal positions. Updated test reports provided. Cetecom 10/30/06 X 6 The test mode used for emissions testing is unclear. The operational description lists the use of 802.11b in the WLAN portion of this equipment, however the schematics make reference to 802.11b and g modes. Please clarify the operating mode tested for compliance and confirm whether 802.11g is employed for use in the equipment. Typo in schematics Cetecom 10/17/06 X 7 Please clarify test procedures used for compliance testing. Requirements under FCC part 15.employ the use of ANSI C63.4. Specific measurement procedures for 15.247 are DA00-705 and KDB 558074 Updated test reports provided Cetecom 10/31/06 Xx 8 Please clarify the test distance for emissions testing Confirmed 3m test distance. Cetecom 10/17/06 X 9 Please supply comliance statem ent for RF Exposure. Uploaded MPE calculations. Cetecom 10/30/06 X 10 Test setup photos show AC conducted testing - please confirm that equipment is not capable of operation while in charge mode. Updated test report provided. Cetecom 10/31/06 X 3a CKC CS confirms repeal of temporar y confidentiality, this item is to inform the applicant only permanent confidentiality will be applied at the time of filing. No response necessary to this item Note N/A For Bluetooth portion of equipment: X 11 Please confirm compliance with receive r input bandwidth in accordance with 15.247(a)(1) Information Provided. Cetecom 10/30/06 For WLAN portion of equipment X 14 Please clarify modes of modulation for 801.11 operation. 801.11b does not normally offer OFDM as listed on page 5 of test report Updated test report provided. Cetecom 10/30/06 RF Exposure X 15 An RF exposure statement required to be provided to the FCC as an exhibit. Please provide such a statem ent for upload. The peak EIRP of this equipment is higher than the low threshold for TCB review. This implies MPE calculations are required; SAR is optional. RF Exposure information provided. Cetecom 10/30/06 X 16 Please clarify “Mobile” RF exposure operating conditions. Users manual specifically lists user requirements for body worn configurations. User maintained RF exposure restricti ons are not acceptable compliance for portable configurations. If portable configuration is intended, please supply demonstration of compliance for portable configurations. NOTE: As a hand-held only device, the final FCC Grant will have restrictions to Mobile RF exposure conditions. Updated users manual provided. Cetecom 10/30/06

HUMAN EXPOSURE STATEMENT A pplication : FCC-ID : HD57850LPE and HD57850L0E PREDICTION of MPE at given distance Calculations can be made to predict RF field strength and power density levels around typical RF sources using the general equations (3) and (4) on page 19 of the following FCC document: “OET Bulletin 65, Edition 97-01 - Evaluating Compliance with FCC Guidelines for Human Exposure to Radio frequency Electromagnetic Fields”. These equations are generally accurate in the far field of an antenna but will over predict power density in the near field, where they could be used for making a “worst case” prediction. S = PG/4πR 2 (3) Where S = power density (in appropriate units, e.g. mW/cm 2 ) P = power input to the antenna (in appropriate units e.g. mW) G = power gain of the antenna in the direction of interest relative to the isotropic radiator R = distance to the center of radiation of the antenna (appropriate units e.g. cm) or, S = EIRP/4πR 2 (4) Where EIRP = Equivalent Isotropically Radiated Power Limit: The table below is excerpted from Table 1B of 47 CFR 1.1310 titled “Limits for Maximum Permissible Exposure (MPE), Limits for General Population/Uncontrolled Exposure” Frequency Range (MHz) Power Density (mW/cm 2 ) Averaging Time (minutes) 300 -1500 f/1500 30 1500 - 100000 1.0 30 Part 15 for 2400MHz to 2483.5MHz : 1 mW/cm 2 PREDICTION MPE FCC 15 WLAN + BT Maximum EIRP: EIRP WLAN(23.22 dBm (209.9mW )) + EIRP BT(-7.93dBm (0161mW)) = 210.061mW Calculated at distance of 20 cm Power density = 210.061 mW / (4 x pi x 20 2 )cm 2 = 0.0418 mW/cm 2 RESULT : Configuration complies with rules.
