The GSM module is designed to operate both within the primary and the extended GSM 900 bands. The testing was performed with batteries supplied by HHP and manufactured by Sanyo. The battery was fully charged before each measurement and there were no external connections. The sub-equipped versions supplied for SAR assessment were:- Unit 2 – a two radio device. It has a Tri-band Class 4 E-GSM 900MHz; Class 1 DCS 1800MHz and PCS 1900MHz radio and a 2.4GHz 802.11b Wireless Radio IMEI 35045.41.058974.07. Unit 3 – a two radio device. It has a Tri-band Class 4 E-GSM 900MHz; Class 1 DCS 1800MHz and PCS 1900MHz radio and a Bluetooth Module Unit 4 – a one radio device. It has a Tri-band Class 4 E-GSM 900MHz; Class 1 DCS 1800MHz and PCS 1900MHz radio IMEI 351113.20.085517.14. A single scan performed at the worst-case position and frequency as identified during the assessment of D9500 Unit 1 – the three radio sample. This report covers the PCS1900 head and body testing and WLAN Body testing only. The Bluetooth maximum output level was declared as 2dBm. The D9500 does support simultaneous transmission. The only co-transmission options are GSM & Bluetooth and WLAN & Bluetooth. Due to the low power of the Bluetooth radio no SAR testing was performed on this device whilst in co-transmission mode. For head SAR assessment testing was performed with the device in GSM mode only using a Specific Anthropomorphic Mannequin (SAM) phantom as specified in the CENELEC standard EN 50361.
