FCC ID: HSW-HN1510 The following statement will be placed in the front of the users manual: Notice to users/installers using the 24 dBi parabolic dish antenna in conjunction with the HN1510 module. FCC rules limit the use of this antenna, when connected to the HN1510 module, to point-to-point applications only. It is the responsibility of the installer to ensure that the system is prohibited from being used in point-to-multipoint applications, omnidirectional applications, and applications where there are multiple co-located intentional radiators transmitting the same information. Any other mode of operation using this antenna is forbidden. In order to meet FCC’s MPE requirements, Cirronet Corporation will add the following statements to the users manual Information to user/installer regarding FCC’s Maximum Permissible Exposure (MPE) limits. Notice to HN1510 users/installers using the following fixed antennas: Andrews 24dBi parabolic dish, Andrews 18dBi parabolic dish, Mobile Mark 9dBi Corner Reflector, Mobile Mark 14dBi Corner Reflector, Cushcraft 15dBi Yagi The field strength radiated by any one of these antennas, when connected to a transmitting HN1510 module, may exceed FCC mandated RF exposure limits. FCC rules require professional installation of these antennas in such a way that the general public will not be closer than 2 m from the radiating aperture of any of these antennas. End users of these systems must also be informed that RF exposure limits may be exceeded if personnel come closer than 2 m to the apertures of any of these antennas. If this does not address all issues, please let us know. 1) The transmitter cannot coordinate its hopping sequence with the hopping sequence of other transmitters, or vice versa, for the purpose of avoiding the simultaneous occupancy of individual hopping frequencies by multiple transmitters. Provide a description on how the device complies with this rule. 2) The system shall hop to channel frequencies that are selected at the system hopping rate from a pseudorandomly ordered list of hopping frequencies. Indicate how the pseudorandom hopping sequence is derived. Provide a list of channel frequencies and a sample of a few sequences. 3) Each frequency must be used equally on the average by each transmitter. Each new transmission cannot start on the same point in a sequence(except for voice systems.) Some transmissions may need only a few frequency hops to be completed and If the transmission started on the same frequency each time, this frequency would be used more than the others if many short transmissions were sent. Therefore, Describe where the next transmission starts when a sequence is not completed in a previous message. 4) Section 15.247(a)1 indicates that the system receivers shall have input bandwidths that match the hopping channel bandwidths of their corresponding transmitters and shall shift frequencies in synchronization with the transmitted signals. Please explain how the device complies with this rule when a packet is repeated or when multiple packets are sent. What is the receiver input bandwidth? How does the receiver shift frequencies and determine which frequency to shift to in order to synchronize with this transmitter? 5) Which antennas will be for fixed operation? Which antennas will be for mobile operation? See new manual provided (pages 2 & 3) 6) Provide a complete manual with warnings. See new manual provided 7) For this professional installed device, indicate how the device will be marketed. Verify that it will not be sold to the General Public. Conducted and radiated emissions data were taken with the test receiver or spectrum analyzer's resolution bandwidth adjusted to 9 kHz and 120 kHz, respectively. All measurements are peak unless stated otherwise. The video filter associated with the spectrum analyzer was off throughout the evaluation process. A block diagram of the tested system is shown in Figure 1. Test configuration photographs for spurious and fundamental emissions are shown in Figure 2. The sample used for testing was received by U.S. Technologies on January 17, 2001 in good condition. The EUT was originally approved for use with one of seven different antennas. The EUT was previously approved under FCC ID: HSW-2410M by the FCC on 10/6/99. Cirronet Corporation desires to add an additional 5 antennas to their original grant of certification. Since the EUT has been previously tested and approved, only the spurious emissions test has been repeated. Additionally, since Cirronet Corporation desires to add two parabolic dish antennas (+18 dBi and +24 dBi), only the highest gain model was selected for test (+24 dBi). 2.2 Test Facility Testing was performed at US Tech's measurement facility at 3505 Francis Circle, Alpharetta, GA. This site has been fully described and submitted to the FCC, and accepted in their letter marked 31040/SIT. Additionally this site has also been fully described and submitted to Industry Canada (IC), and has been approved under file number IC2982. 2.3 Test Equipment Table 2 describes test equipment used to evaluate this product. 2.4 Modifications No modifications were made by US Tech, to bring the EUT into compliance with FCC Part 15, Class B Limits for the transmitter portion of the EUT.
