Circuit Description The 100.4MHz oscillator drives the base of Q3 the final/buffer amplifier. The modulation provided by Mic. The output of Q3 has the matching network consisting of L2 and C11 that limit the harmonic content and effect the proper coupling of the antenna to the output stage. Antenna, Ground and Power Source The antenna consists of a 14cm long telescoping chrome over brass tubing. There is no external ground connection. The ground is only that of the printed circuit board. Electric current is supplied by a 4.5 Volt (“L1154” size battery x 3) primary battery

Measurements in both horizontal and vertical polarities were performed. During the test, each emission was maximized by: having the EUT continuously working, investigate all operating modes, rotated about all 3 axis (X, Y & Z) to obtain worst position, manipulating interconnecting cables, rotating turntable, varying antenna height from 1m to 4m in both horizontal and vertical polarizations. The emissions worst-case are shown in Test Results of the following pages. *: OATS [Open Area Test Site] located at HKSTC with a metal ground plane on filed with the FCC pursuant to section 2.948 of the FCC rules, with Registration Number: 90657. Marianne Bosley To:[email protected] Cc:[email protected] Hi Alice, I didn't know if you received the previous email of today (it was in word perfect), so I am sending it again. Below are the continued technical issues, sent previously by Chris Harvey on July 10, that we need to resolve before we can grant. If you have any questions, please let me know. Alice, we have reviewed the attachments that you sent. However you still have not answered the specific question #2. The Engineer who performed the technical Review of this information noted the following: "...they are describing how the EUT is kept from being re-tuned after it is set at the factory. We want to know if, in its design, the EUT uses any means to limit the level of the input signal (typically clipping diodes) to keep the FM signal from deviating more than +/- 100 kHz regardless of the amplitude (volume) of the input signal." I hope this continues to clarify the requirement so you will be able to provide the appropriate information. Best regards, Marianne T. Bosley EMC Admi nistrator 410-354-3300, ext. 412
