It can be used up to 10 meters (32 feet) from the chartplotter and does not need to be pointed directly at your chartplotter. The remote operates on 2 AAA batteries (not included). To replace the batteries, use a small Phillips screwdriver to open the access cover on the rear panel. Press and release to select a paired chartplotter. Rocker—press up, down, left, and right to move the map pointer and enter data. SELECT—press to confirm messages and select items. MENU—press to view additional options on most screens. LOCK—press to lock all remote functions. Press again to unlock. The remote beeps when it is locked and a button is pressed. MOB (Man Overboard)—press to mark your current location as a Man Overboard point. HOME—press at any time to return to the Home screen. MARK—press to mark your current location as a Waypoint. Up/Down—press to highlight menu items. Range (+/-)— press up (+) and down (-) to increase and decrease the map zoom scale. Getting Started Use one of the three pairing buttons to pair your remote with a specific chartplotter. If you have more than one chartplotter, this allows you to separately control up to three chartplotters. To allow wireless connections on your chartplotter: 1. From the Home screen, select Configure > Communications > Wireless Devices. 2. Identification of whether the information is available to the public and the extent of any previous disclosure of the information to third parties: To the knowledge of those preparing this application, the information has not been disclosed publicly heretofore. While the general theory of operation of this equipment has been the subject of numerous disclosures in industry and standards groups as well as in rule making proceedings of the FCC, the protection sought is narrowly drawn and pertains to certain specific implementations of this radio technology. 8. Justification of the period during which the submitting party asserts that the material should not be available for public disclosure: This material should not be disclosed for at least 25 years. While improvements in design are made relatively frequently, disclosure of the design information would lead to insights into both design and manufacturing techniques that could have an adverse competitive effect for many years to come. This equipment is designed for commercial, industrial, and governmental applications. As such, unlike most consumer equipment, this equipment could be used for more than a decade in some cases. As such, it is important that the design not be made available to unauthorized persons who might attempt to use knowledge of the design to compromise the applications for which the equipment will be employed. 7/25/2007 To Whom It May Concern: The FCC identifier was located inside the battery compartment on this device because of limited areas. The device is small, handheld with many curved surfaces. The top side is mostly keypad and the bottom side removable battery compartment cover. The FCC identifier will be readily viewable as it will be visible each time the batteries are replaced in the device. Since the device will be sold without batteries installed the user will have to install batteries prior to using, thus they will see the FCC identifier prior to using the device for the first time. In addition to having the FCC identifier on the inside of the battery compartment, it will also be on the outside of the removable battery door, making it readily viewable at the time of purchase.
