Do not place in front of or above any airbag. (See diagram.) Do not mount where driver’s field of vision is blocked. Do not place unsecured on the vehicle dashboard. Do not mount in front of an airbag field of deployment. • When navigating, carefully compare information displayed on the unit to all available navigation sources, including information from street signs, visual sightings, and maps. For safety, always resolve any discrepancies or questions before continuing navigation and defer to posted road signs. • Always operate the vehicle in a safe manner. Do not become distracted by the unit while driving, and always be fully aware of all driving conditions. Minimize the amount of time spent viewing the unit’s screen while driving and use voice prompts when possible. Do not input destinations, change settings, or access any functions requiring prolonged use of the unit’s controls while driving. Pull over in a safe and legal manner before attempting such operations. • The unit is designed to provide route suggestions. It is not designed to replace the need for driver attentiveness regarding road closures or road conditions, traffic congestion, weather conditions, or other factors that may affect safety while driving. Battery Warnings If these guidelines are not followed, the internal lithium- ion battery may experience a shortened life span or may present a risk of damage to the GPS unit, fire, chemical burn, electrolyte leak, and/or injury. • Contact your local waste disposal department to properly dispose of the unit/battery. • Do not leave the unit exposed to a heat source or in a high temperature location, such as in the sun in an unattended vehicle on a hot day. European FM Transmitter Licensing Information The FM transmitter in this unit (if this unit contains an FM transmitter) is intended for operation under a general license or license exemption in the countries listed below. The spectrum authority in each country has been notified of the marketing of this product in the country. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) this device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) this device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation. This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to part 15 of the FCC rules. Permit but ask procedure FM transmitters (FCC 15.239) (Reminder) TCBs must use the Permit but ask procedure prior to issuing a grant. Submit information required by the Permit but ask procedure. Also, submit the following information. 1) How does this device operate? 2) Provide information on the device and its antenna. 3) How is it installed? 4) What test procedure was used? 5) If tested in a car, how was it configured/tested? At the present time, FM transmitters (subject to 15.239) tested in vehicles must also be tested on a test table. Provide both sets of data. All data must be compliant 6) Was the tuning range properly verified? The test lab should indicate in the report that the tuning controls were manually adjusted to verify maximum tuning range. 7) Was the bandwidth properly tested with maximum audio input? Use a typical audio file from a typical device. e.g. Do not use a 1 kHz signal from a signal generator. 8) Provide the test report. Before sending the information to the FCC, ensure that the above information is complete and sent with the request. Also, the TCB must do the initial review to ensure that the device complies with the rules and all previous review guidance on FM transmitters and Section 15.239 devices and that all issues are resolved prior to the request for TCB grant. 1. The equipment may be set to transmit audio in the 88.1 MHz to 107.9 MHz range. The user may select an unoccupied FM channel for use in the automotive configuration. 2. The FM transmitter has an internal, non-replaceable, non-user serviceable antenna mounted inside the sealed plastic enclosure. 3. Typically the unit is placed on the dash board or suction cup mounted to the windshield. 4. Testing was performed as directed by ANSI 63.4-2003. 5. The unit was not tested while mounted inside a vehicle. The equipment was placed on a wooden turn table as directed in ANSI 63.4-2003 and testing performed on a three meter OATS. 6. Tuning was performed to verify operation in the 88.1-107.9 MHz. The equipment will only transmit on approved channels in the FM band. 7. Maximum occupied band width measurements were taken during testing. 8. The test report was offered with the application.

While the general theory of operation of this equipment has been the subject of numerous disclosures in industry and standards groups as well as in rule making proceedings of the FCC, the protection sought is narrowly drawn and pertains to certain specific implementations of this radio technology. 8. Justification of the period during which the submitting party asserts that the material should not be available for public disclosure: This material should not be disclosed for at least 25 years. While improvements in design are made relatively frequently, disclosure of the design information would lead to insights into both design and manufacturing techniques that could have an adverse competitive effect for many years to come. This equipment is designed for commercial, industrial, and governmental applications. As such, unlike most consumer equipment, this equipment could be used for more than a decade in some cases.
