American Telecommunications Certification Body Inc. 6731 Whittier Ave, McLean, VA 22101 May 3, 2005 RE: Giga-Byte Technology FCC ID: JCK-GN-WPAG I have a few comments on this Application. Depending on your responses, kindly understand there may be additional comments. 1.) Kindly review the Operational Description. It contains the same information as included in the Block Diagram, which is to be listed as Confidential. This is not allowed. Please review your filing and modify. Ans: I revised with a new operation description to your website. Please review. 2.) The Manual is not listing required RF Exposure information and warnings. There should be agreement between the RF Exposure exhibit contained in the Test Report and the warning statements in the Manual.. Please review. Ans: I add in a missing statement on the existing page 2 of the manual. 3.) The Manual also indicates that this device can be used from 2412 to 2484MHz. Please note that a channel at 2484MHz would be in the Restricted Bands of 15.205 and therefore not allowed. Please review. Ans: I asked client to revise page 32 of the manual with correction of 2462MHz instead of 2484MHz. 4.) Does the end user have access to country code settings? Ans: Client replied that the code setting will be done in the factory before displaying in the market. So, end users have no need to select country code or others. 5.) Please see Section 3.6 in the Test Report. The test frequencies specified are incorrect. Please review. Ans: Sorry, I have revised and uploaded the report to you! 6.) I am concerned about the Restricted Band Edge test. In one case we find a passing value with less than 1/10 th of a dB of margin to the limit. To insure compliance, I request retest of the band edge only on Channel 11 across all data rates. The margin is just too close to be comfortable. If RF power reduction is required to assure compliance, this should be clearly stated in the Test Report. Ans: As you said, the client admits the close margin value to the limit because they want the RF power on channel 11 to be as higher as possible. William H. Graff President and Director of Engineering mailto: [email protected] The items indicated above must be submitted before processing can continue on the above referenced application. Failure to provide the requested information may result in application termination. Correspondence should be considered part of the permanent submission and may be viewed from the Internet after a Grant of Equipment Authorization is issued. z Page 2 May 3, 2005 Please do not respond to this correspondence using the email reply button. In order for your response to be processed expeditiously, you must submit your documents through the AmericanTCB.com website.
