CHUAN SHIH INDUSTRIAL CORPORATION LTD. Energy Saving Lamp FCC ID: KQP09 USERS MANUAL 1.0. General Description These 3-Way CFL products are a direct replacement to the 3-Way Incandescent Bulbs. They are self-ballasted, screw-in Compact Fluorescent Lamps, to be used in the 3-Way sockets, driven by a 3-Way switch, primarily on the Table Lamp and Floor Lamp applications. The applications, by the nature of the 3-way switch operation, require an easy access by hand, in order to perform the sequential switching of the 3 Light Levels. 1.1. The 3 Light Levels Similar to any typical Incandescent Bulb operation, these CFL Products are capable of generating 3 distinct Light Levels. Turning the 3-Way Switch from the OFF state will generate the first Light Level, followed by the two more Light Levels, in a sequential increase of Light Intensity. The first Light Level generates a level of Light Intensity in the range of about (20-30)%, the next Light Level generates a level of Light Intensity in the range of (50-60)%, while the highest Light Level generates a level of 100% of Light Intensity. 2.0. Instructions and Environmental Conditions Handling of these products under power presents the risk of electric shock. The Products are to be used in dry locations only. The Products are not to be used where exposed to weather. 2.1. Installation These 3-Way CFL Products are designated for installation in 3-Way sockets only, as direct replacements to the Incandescent Bulbs. They are not for use with light dimmers. They are not for use in totally enclosed recessed fixtures. Whenever the Product is screwed into a typical ON-OFF Incandescent Fixture, it will generate a single Light Level, most typically the intermediate one. In a typical installation there is no need for the “harp” of the Table or Floor Lamp to be removed prior to installation. The Product will screw in like a regular Incandescent Bulb. CHUAN SHIH INDUSTRIAL CORPORATION LTD. Energy Saving Lamp FCC ID: KQP09 2.2. Operators There are no special qualification requirements to the Product Operator. 3.0. Compliance This device has been tested and found to comply with Part 18 of FCC Rules. This product may cause interference to radio equipment and should not be installed near maritime safety communications equipment or other critical navigation or communication equipment operating between 0.45-30MHz. 4.0 Intellectual Property These products are governed by the following US Patents: 5798617, 582699, 5982111
