Plug in the first bed to be programmed and within 30 seconds, press the head up button on the hand control until the transmission indicator light illuminates. This will confirm that the hand control and the bed are communicating. 3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 with each base requiring programming (It is important to use the specific hand control that will be used to operate the bed). Beds prior programmed with the remote need not be unplugged. 4. Multiple beds are now programmed for independent operation. Note: In the event of power failure or if bed is inadvertently unplugged from the electrical power source, wait 30 seconds (after power is restored) before using any hand control. This will prevent bases from learning and working simultaneously. Technical Description of Operation 4002 Hand Wand The 4002 RF Hand Wand is a microcontroller based, battery powered 310MHz On-Off-Keyed transmitter. The hand wand is in sleep mode until a button on the Conductive Rubber Switch (CRS) is pressed. The button press wakes up the micro controller and processes the button press. After decoding, the microcontroller generates the data pattern to on-off key the transmitter circuit. The back light is activated and the microcontroller stays awake for six seconds until another button is pressed or the same button is held pressed. CRS/Button Matrix: The CRS has conductive carbon impregnated pads situated above gold plated contacts on the PCB. When the button section of the CRS is pressed, the pad shorts two adjacent conductors. These conductors make up a six column by four row switch matrix. After wake-up, the microcontroller drives the columns and reads the rows to determine which button was pressed. Battery: The hand wand uses qty 4 βAAAβ type batteries connected in series. Backlight: The backlight consists of three LEDβs to illuminate the translucent CRS. The back light is active when the microcontroller is awake, during data transmission and the six second wake time after button release.

Liepa Report approved by: _____________________ Valdis V. Liepa Test Report Prepared by: Joseph D. Brunett Research Scientist Summary Tests for compliance with FCC Regulations Part 15, Subpart C, and Industry Canada RSS-210/GEN, were performed on Raven Industries Inc. model(s) E1003925. This device is subject to the Rules and Regulations as a Transmitter. In testing completed on June 28, 2006, the device tested in the worst case met the allowed FCC specifications for radiated emissions by 3.2 dB (see p. 6). Besides harmonics, there were no other significant spurious emissions found; emissions from digital circuitry were negligible. The conducted emission tests do not apply, since the device is powered from four 1.5 VDC batteries. University of Michigan Radiation Laboratory FCC Part 15, IC RSS-210/Gen - Test Report No. 415031-319 Page 2 of 10 1. Introduction Raven Industries Inc. model E1003925 was tested for compliance with FCC Regulations, Part 15, adopted under Docket 87-389, April 18, 1989 as subsequently amended, and with Industry Canada RSS-210/Gen, Issue 6, September 2005. The tests were performed at the University of Michigan Radiation Laboratory Willow Run Test Range following the procedures described in ANSI C63.4-2003 "Methods of Measurement of Radio-Noise Emissions from Low-Voltage Electrical and Electronic Equipment in the Range of 9 kHz to 40 GHz". The Site description and attenuation characteristics of the Open Area Tes Site are on file with FCC Laboratory, Columbia, Maryland (FCC Reg. No: 91050) and with Industry Canada, Ottawa, ON (File Ref. No: IC 2057). 2. Test Procedure and Equipment Used The pertinent test equipment commonly used in our facility for measurements is listed in Table 2.1 below. Configuration and Identification of Device Under Test The DUT is a 310 MHz transmitter, approximately 2.5 x 6 x 1 inches in size. The DUT was designed and manufactured by Raven, Electronic Systems Division, 4372 Green Ash Drive , Earth City, MO 63045. It is identified as: Raven Transmitter Model: E1003925 FCC ID: KSME1003925 IC: 2004A-E1003925 3.2 Models There is only one model of the device, and it is designed for use in the remote control system of power adjustable beds. It is actuated by pushing a button, and transmits a PPM signal so long as a button is depressed. The coding is performed by a microprocessor, timed by a 12.8 MHz internal oscillator. Since the transmitter transmits continuous as long as the button is depressed, only one transmitter was used in all of the measurements. 3.3 Modes of Operation The DUT has only one mode of operation, and is manually activated. It ceases to transmit within 5 seconds of deactivation. See Figure 6.1. 3.3 EMI/EMC Relevant Modifications There were no modifications made to the DUT by this laboratory. 4. Emission Limits The DUT tested falls under the category of an Intentional Radiators and the Digital Devices. For FCC, it is subject to Part 15, Subpart C, (Section 15.231(a-c), 15.209), and Subpart A, (Section 15.33). For Industry Canada it is subject to RSS-210 (Section 2.6 and 2.7). The applicable testing frequencies with corresponding emission limits are given in Tables 4.1 and 4.2 below. 4.1 Radiated Emission Limits Table 4.1. Radiated Emission Limits (Fβ¦
