Ever Win International Corporation UFM2003 Wireless MP3 adapter User guide Setup Instructions: The UFM2003 Wireless MP3 adapter is your own personal FM broadcast station intended for use exclusively inside an automobile with a 12v cigarette lighter outlet. 1. Plug the UFM2003 Wireless MP3 adapter to the headphone jack of your MP3 player. 2. Plug the UFM2003 Wireless MP3 adapter to your automobile 12v cigarette lighter outlet. 3. Set the UFM2003 Wireless MP3 adapter to desired FM channel by setting the slide switch to the desired frequency. Note that there are four (4) Frequency selections available: 88.1mhz, 88.3mhz, 88.5mhz, and 88.7mhz. For best results, set the frequency to a vacant spot on the FM band. 4. Tune your FM radio to the same frequency as selected on the UFM2003. 5. Select an album on the MP3 player and set it to playback. Adjust MP3 player volume control to normal volume setting like when using a headset. 6. Adjust FM radio volume control to desired level. 7. If audio seems loud and distorted, decrease MP3 player volume control. If audio seems weak and noisy, increase MP3 player volume control. The volume control on your MP3 player behaves like the volume control on a disc jockey console in a real broadcast station. There is an optimum setting for best FM audio fidelity. Once you have found that optimum setting, do not adjust any further and leave it alone. Use the volume control on you FM radio for normal adjustments of volume level inside the automobile. 8. When traveling, you may observe that reception may become noisy or altogether displaced by a commercial FM broadcast station. This is because you may be approaching the location of an FM broadcast station operating on the same frequency as the UFM2003 wireless MP3 player adapter. In such a case, change the frequency of the UFM2003 wireless MP3 player (step-3 above). Warranty does not include malfunction caused by accident, misuse, contact with solvent chemicals or malfunction caused by tampering or modification. This warranty excludes all incidental or consequential damages. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of consequential damages so the above limitation may not apply to you. For Warranty Service, the product must be returned at your expense to place of purchase. Return policies may vary. If you cannot reasonably do this, please contact us stating the nature of the defect and date of purchase. Include a copy of your sales slip or proof of purchase. Your repaired or replacement equipment will be returned to you at our expense. This warranty gives you specific rights: you may also have other legal rights which vary from state to state. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) this device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) this device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation. If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by tuning the equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the following measures: z Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna z Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver z Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the receiver is connected z Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for help. Please note that further comments may arise in response to answers provided to the questions below. 1. Please provide the users manual or users guide with all of the appropriate FCC part 15 statements (i.e. 15.19, 15.21 etc). 2. Please note that for part 15 devices 47CFR 2.1033(a)(6) states that “The report shall include sample calculations showing how the measurement results were converted for comparison with the technical requirements.” Please note that only the end results are shown in the report. Please provide the required sample calculations and information on how the measurement factors (i.e. antenna factor, cable factor and preamp factor is included in the measurement results. 3. Please note that 15.239(a) states, “(a) Emissions from the intentional radiator shall be confined within a band 200 kHz wide centered on the operating frequency.” Please note that, while the plots labeled for bandwidth appear to be compliant, the plots on pages 18 and 20 indicate that the bandwidth is greater than 200 kHz. The plots on pages 18 and 29 use a video bandwidth of 3kHz while the plots of the bandwidth on pages 28 through 30 use 30kHz. Generally, the lower video bandwidth would reduce side band emissions as it begins to average (please note that averaging does not actually begin to have meaning until the video bandwidth is no greater than 1/10 the resolution bandwidth). Please note that as the lower video bandwidth would begin to reduce the side bands and as these plots seem to be greater than 200kHz bandwidth, the plots on pages 18 and 20 of the report would seem to disagree with the bandwidth plots on pages 28 through 30. Please explain. 4. Please note that the antenna should not to be laid on wooden table tops. The antenna should be supported by nonconductive material (foamed-polystyrene blocks for example) above the table. As the antenna is part of the cable, please verify that the device is still compliant when the antenna is properly placed above the wooden table top. Alternately, please provide evidence that the EUT setup as shown is the worse case antenna placement. Are they added, subtracted, are the feed into the analyzer software, etc? [Leon Kogan] The field strength (FS) is calculated by adding the antenna factor (AF) cable losses (CL) and subtracting the amplifier gain (AG) from the measured reading (SA). The basic equation is as follows: FS = SA + AF + CL - AG Once these have been properly addressed the grant can be issued rapidly. A statement saying the manual will be changed and showing the actual statement on non modification would be sufficient and a statement indicating how the transducers are accounted for in the report would also be sufficient. The easiest thing is to remove Monster Cable and put 'the party responsible for compliance'. Otherwise Win International Corporation will have to be in the statement. This circuit has a stereo audio input and a 75-ohm RF output. 2) Frequency of operation is determined by hard-contact switch selection made by the Channel selector slide switch. 3) There are four (4) channel selections available for transmit frequency. 4) There is no ON/OFF switch for this product. Circuit goes ON when product is plugged to automobile cigarette lighter outlet. There are four (4) available channels. Pressing switch will increment the frequency to the next channel. There is no ON/OFF switch for this product. Circuit goes ON when product is plugged to automobile cigarette lighter outlet. This product also supplies 12v operating power to MP3 player. Power consumption of FM transmitter IC is 20ma typical at 5v. Wires connecting to MP3 player are used as the antenna. Alteration of antenna by user is not possible. The EUT was configured on a table top. device and was tested with standard MP3 player connected. The modulation frequency was provided by external Test Oscillator HP 651B. Operating frequencies : 88.1, 88.3, 88.5, 88.7 MHz. Clock frequencies : 7.6 MHz Power Supply : External 12VDC battery. 3.2 Test Run 1) The EUT was connected through Monster Stubby cigarette lighter connector to the 12VDC battery Apple Ipod, as a standard MP3 player, was connected to the appropriate input/output of the EUT; 2) Test Oscillator HP 651B had been connected to the Aux In input of the docking connector when it was necessary. For test purposes the following three channels were selected for measurements : 88.1 MHz 88.3 MHz 88.7 MHz Each channel had generated its frequency continuously for the duration of the testing.
