Hardwarespecifications/Compliance2 2System Requirements4 3Setup 4 SX-10WAG Users Manual FCC IDN6C-SX10WAG NOTICE This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates, uses and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation. If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the following measures: -Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna -Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver. -Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the receiver is connected. -Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for help. This transmitter must not be co-located or operated in conjunction with any other antenna or transmitter. This equipment complies with FCC radiation exposure limits set forth for uncontrolled equipment and meets the FCC radio frequency (RF) Exposure Guidelines in Supplement C to OET65. This equipment should be installed and operated with at least 20cm and more between the radiator and person’s body (excluding extremities: hands, wrists, feet and legs). This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) this device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) this device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation FCC WARNING Changes or modifications not expressly approved by the party responsible for compliance could void the user’s authority to operate the equipment. Canada This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules and RSS-Gen of the IC Rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) this device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) this device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation. 1Hardwarespecifications/Compliance Operating environment Temperature+0°C to +60°C, +32F to +140F Humidity20% to 90% Storage environment Temperature-10°C to +70°C, +14F to +158F Humidity5% to 90% supply voltage 3.3V 0.3V Host I/F MiniPCI IEEE802.11b Frequency : 2412MHz~2462MHz Transmission system DS-SS Transmission speed 1M/2M/5.5M/11M Automatic detection Channel111ch IEEE802.11g Frequency : 2412MHz~2462MHz Transmission systemOFDM Transmission speed 6M/12M/18M/36M/48M/54M Automatic detection Channel111ch IEEE802.11a Frequency : 5180MHz~5320MHz 5745MHz~5825MHz Transmission systemOFDM Transmission speed 6M/12M/18M/36M/48M/54M Automatic detection Channel3664ch 149165ch Antenna interface Diversity connector PC containing: . 32-bit CardBus slot (or Desktop PC with PC Card-PCI adapter) . American Telecommunications Certification Body Inc. 6731 Whittier Ave, McLean, VA 22101 July 12, 2006 RE: FCC ID: N6C-SX10WAG_ATCB003743 Attention: Yoshiko Mizuta I have a few comments on this Application. Please note that further comments may arise in response to answers provided to the questions below. 1. Please note that the LMA request states that the device is to fit only into hosts that contain the proper voltage regulation. Please also note that the manual simply states that the device fits into laptop PC or desk top PCs. Please note that it is a fallacy to assume that all hosts as mentioned in the manual have proper voltage regulation and thus the manufacturer of this module must have control over the host into which this device goes. How does the manufacturer maintain control over the installation of this device so as to ensure that the host has proper regulation? Please be more specific on how the manufacturer controls the installation of this device so as to meet voltage regulation requirements. 2. Please note that the manual simply states the device goes into a PC or laptop. Please note that many laptops have antennae which are within 20cm of the person. How does the manufacturer control which laptop this mobile only device goes into? Please be more specific on how the manufacturer controls the installation of this device so as to meet rf exposure requirements. 3. Please provide installation instructions for this device that include the notice to place “Contains FCC ID: N6C-SX10WAG”. 4. FYI – Just for general information, please explain why you broke up the 5.7GHz band. You have applied for a single frequency under 15.247 and the lower 5.7GHz frequencies under 15.407. Why was the device in the 5.7GHz range applied entirely to 15.247 rules? 5. Please note that modular approval, even limited modular approval, requires testing to be done with the specified antenna(s) that are to be used with the device. Please note that the antenna shown in the setup photos and in the external photos of the device do not appear to be the type that would be used in the laptop host as mentioned in the manual. Please test the device using such antenna(s) as will be used in the stated configuration. Please show compliance with the highest gain antenna of each type that will be used. July 14, 2006 Subject : FCC ID: N6C-SX10WAG Dear Mr. Ward, Regarding to your comments for FCC ID: N6C-SX10WAG on June 12, 2006, please find the following replies; 1. We have revised the LMA request letter and User Manual, laptop PC would not be host device of this module. Please refer to the User manual and LMA request letter attached. 2. We deleted the word “lap top PC” from User Manual. It was misprinted. Please refer to the User manual. 3. The note to place “Contains FCC ID:N6C-SX10WAG” and general instruction is already included in the User manual. Please refer to the User Manual. 4. Thank you for your concern. 5. Antenna intends to connect for this module is only one model for this application, if there will be other antennas in the future, it would be taken appropriate action for additional application. Sincerely yours, Yoshiko Mizuta (Ms.) UL Apex Co., Ltd.
