Tout changement ou modification non expressement approuve par le service de certification pourraient annuler le droit de l’utilisateur a faire fonctionner cet equipement 2 INDEX FCC statement 2 DECLARATION OF CONFORMTIY 2 BATTERY INSTALLATION 4 OPERATION 4-5 TROUBLE SHOOTING 5 SPECIFICATIONS 6 WARRANTY INFORMATION 6 YOUR NEW PORTABLE RFID READER Congratulations on your new RFID Reader. Before using read the entire manual to understand all features and operation TEST READER Before scanning to find a microchip it is important to test the reader. Use the provided Test Chip to verify if the RFID Reader is functioning properly. 3 BATTERY INSTALLATION Batteries do not come installed in reader Battery: 2 X 1.5V- Type AAA Standard Dry Cell alkaline batteries To install the batteries, first remove the battery door located at the back lower end of the reader by pressing and sliding downwards. Insert the 1.5V batteries into each slot making sure that each battery polarity is in the right orientation by observing that the spring coils in the battery slots are for the negative side of the batteries (flat end of battery) or by observing the direction indicators inside the battery compartment, then replace the battery compartment door by inserting it back to the reader. OPERATION GENERAL INFORMATION The portable reader Model M250 is a compact, battery powered unit that read radio frequency identification microchips or tags. The device allows you to identify the selected microchip type that belongs to a particular company by displaying the information in its 16 X 2 LCD display. Other RFID microchips that may have other different identifier numbers will not activate the reader; therefore the reader will be silent. PREPARING FOR OPERATION Remove the Portable Reader from the shipping package and install the two 1.5 volts (AAA) batteries supplied with the reader. See section for battery installation instructions. HOW RFID IDENTIFICATION WORKS The portable Reader generates and electromagnetic field which is used to energized the glass encapsulated microchip programmed with a unique ID number. The electromagnetic field provides the energy needed for the microchip to transmit its ID number back to the Portable Reader. The Portable Reader decodes the information and displays the programmed message in the LCD display. The operating frequency of the Portable Reader is 134.2 KHz. 4 READING WITH THE PORTABLE READER When you turn on the Portable Reader by pressing the ON button Located at the front center of the reader, the reader will be in reading Mode: The LCD display will show the message “Reading” followed by a beep sound. In this mode the reader will be active for 10 second and shut off automatically if the microchip into the Medcomp Power Port is not within the range of the reader. If the reader detect a microchip within the 10 seconds period, it will beep constantly displaying the following message “MEDCOMP POWER PORT” but if the microchip Is moved away from the reader and out of its range, the beep sound will stop but LCD display will remain with the same message for the period of 10 seconds after that event. READING RANGE The reading range of the Portable Reader is 3 centimeters and the reading procedure should be accomplished by moving the reader in a circular motion around the microchip target. TROUBLE SHOOTING Performance can be affected by metal objects and computer equipment. These items can cause a reduce read range for identifying microchips. Operate this unit clear of these devices for optimal performance. Microchip is not detected. Verify the Reader with test microchip Reader does not start Verify if batteries were installed correctly and are fully charged Reader turns off quickly Change batteries 5 SPECIFICATIONS Case size L: 12 cm W: 7.5 cm H: 2.2 cm Weight 91g Color White Material ABS plastic Operating temperature 0° to 50° C Temperature Storage -20° to…
