The unit is designed to operate from a main supply of AC 120V~60Hz. Battery Operation POWER CONNECTION Use only the size and type of batteries specified. Be sure to follow the correct polarity when installing the batteries as indicated in the battery compartment. Reversed batteries may cause damage to the device. Do not mix different type of batteries together (e.g. Alkaline and Carbon Zinc) or old batteries with fresh ones. If the device is not to be used for a long period of time, remove the batteries to prevent damage or injury from possible battery leakage. Do not try to recharge batteries not intended to be recharged, they can overheat and rupture (Follow battery manufacturer’s directions). Rechargeable batteries are to be removed from the product before being charged. Rechargeable batteries are only to be charged under adult supervision. Exhausted batteries are to be removed from the product. The supply terminals are not to be short-circuited. CAUTION:The supplied AC power cord has a polarized plug that fits into the wall outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit properly, turn it over and try again. Do not force it. NOTES:When the unit is not operated by the AC power or unused for long periods of time, please remove the AC mains plug from the wall outlet and unplug from the main unit. Remove The AC power cord MUST be disconnected from the unit, otherwise it will not operate on battery power. 7 Plug into AC power or install batteries by following instructions on the previous Power Connection section. Press the POWER button to ON position to turn on the unit. The POWER indicator will be lighted up. Switching be tween different sources (RADIO/CD/ /AUX) After turning on the unit, slide the FUNCTION switch to select different sound sources Adjusting sound volume level After turning on the unit, turn the VOLUME knob to adjust the level of sound volume. Adjust ing the rod antenna The aerial should be extended to ensure good reception in both Bass Booster During music playback, press and toggle the BASS button to turn on/off the bass booster for bass enhancement. FMradio modes. It may be necessary to adjust the position of the unit and /or aerial position to achieve the best signal reception. The unit is designed to play normal music CD disc bearing the correct identication logo. If the disc does not confirm to the standard, it may not be played back properly. Caution: •Playback of CD-R/CD-RW may depend on recording conditions. •Do not attach a seal or label to either side (the recordable side or the labeled side) of a CD-R/ RW disc.
