Exhibit K: User Manual FCC ID: OXZSTDPREVIEW Preco Electronics, Inc. 415 N. Maple Grove, Boise, ID 83704 (800) 453-1141 Copyright 2002 Page 1 of 10 370-871-1B Standard PreView tm Operating Manual/Installation Guide Product Description The Standard PreView tm is a solid-state, pulsed radar object detection system designed to alert vehicle operators to obstacles. The system detects both moving and stationary objects in a pre-defined coverage area and reports the distance of the closest object via visual range indicators and an audible signal to a vehicle operator. The PreView tm system is designed to supplement other safety practices and is not to be the sole method of collision avoidance. The Standard PreView tm consists of three major components: an environmentally sealed sensor, an operator display mounted in the cab of the vehicle, and a recommended external back up warning alarm. The Standard PreView tm system does not require cleaning and is not effected by harsh weather conditions, including temperature extremes, rain, sleet, snow, or fog. Sensor/Antenna Description The antenna assembly transmits and receives low power 5.8GHz radar signals. It then processes the returned signals to determine if an object has reflected any energy back to the sensor and reports this to the operator display. The sensor is designed to process and report detections within ½ of a second allowing the vehicle operator to quickly respond to any object within the detection zone. All connections to a vehicle are accomplished at the sensor. Power is obtained from the vehicle reverse lights and a relay contact is provided for operating a back up alarm. The connection to the display unit is through a watertight connector eliminating any potential problems with pin corrosion. Power to the operator display is provided through the sensor interface to the display. The sensor RF output is pulse modulated so that it will not interfere with similar devices. Preco Electronics, Inc. 415 N. Maple Grove, Boise, ID 83704 (800) 453-1141 Copyright 2002 Page 2 of 10 370-871-1B Operator Display Description The operator display provides the vehicle operator with both visual and audible indications of a detected object. Range to the detected object is provided with five LED’s in a relative format with each LED representing approximately 1/5 th of the total range. The display unit also contains a buzzer to provide an audible alert. The buzzer audible rate will increase as an object becomes closer, providing the operator with another cue that an object is being detected. The operator display continuously monitors communication from the PreView tm sensor and in the event of a system failure or malfunction will notify the operator with a fault indication. See Operator Display Error Indications below for further detail on fault messages. A buzzer volume control switch is provided on the front panel of the display allowing the vehicle operator the ability to adjust the buzzer volume to three different levels. Item Description Green Power ON Illuminates continuously after power is applied to the system. The power ON LED will blink quickly if a system malfunction occurs. Range Indications Illuminate to give operator a relative distance measurement to the closet detected object. LED’s operate from the right to the left, with the closer an object the more LED’s illuminated. Also used for error codes. Buzzer Sounds audible tones to alert operator of obstacles. The buzzer tone rate will increase as the vehicle gets closer to an object. Volume Control Switch This momentary push button switch allows three different buzzer volume levels to be selected as well as providing the capability of turning off the buzzer. Table 1. Operator Display Description Object Detection Capability The Standard PreView tm system can detect most objects within the detection zone. However, there are some instances where objects can go undetected. Obstacle size, shape, and composition are all factors determining if, when and where an object is detected. The PreView tm system operates by transmitting a pulse of very low power electromagnetic energy. This returned energy is measured to determine an object’s distance. The amount of energy returned is based on a few factors: Size – a larger object usually reflects more energy than a smaller object. Distance – the farther away an object is, the less energy is returned. Composition – a metal object reflects more energy than a non-metallic object. A metallic object at the edge of the zone will be detected, where a wood object may not. Scattering – a solid object reflects more energy that a non-solid object such as wood, gravel, bushes, etc. Angle – an object perpendicular to the sensor will reflect more energy than an object at an angle. The exposure level at a 20 cm distance from the EUT’s transmitting antenna is calculated using the general equation: S = (PG)/4πR 2 Where: S = power density (mW/cm 2 ) P = power input to the antenna (mW) = -30dBm or 0.001mW G = linear power gain relative to an isotropic radiator = 1dBi R = distance to the center of the radiation of the antenna (20 cm = limit for MPE estimates) Solving for S, the maximum power densities 20 cm from the transmitting antennas are as follows: S = (.001mw) * (1) /[4π * (20cm) 2 ] = 0.2 x 10 -6 mW/cm 2 As can been seen this is easily smaller than the maximum permissible exposure (MPE) for the general population of 1 mW/cm 2 .

Field strength limits are specified at a distance of 3 meters. Emissions radiated outside of the specified frequency bands, except for harmonics, shall be attenuated by at least 50 dB below the level of the fundamental or to the general radiated emission limits in Sec. 15.209, whichever is the lesser attenuation. As shown in Sec. 15.35(b), for frequencies above 1000 MHz, the field strength limits are based on average limits. However, the peak field strength of any emission shall not exceed the maximum permitted average limits specified in Sec. 15.249 by more than 20 dB under any condition of modulation. Configuration: The antenna to be used with the EUT was tested. The EUT was configured for continuous modulated operation at its single transmit frequency. While scanning, emissions from the EUT were maximized by rotating the EUT, adjusting the measurement antenna height and polarization, and manipulating the EUT antenna in 3 orthogonal planes (per ANSI C63.4:1992). A preamp and high pass filter were used for this test in order to provide sufficient measurement sensitivity. Harmonic Emissions – Pulse Spectrum Mode To determine the “true peak level” of harmonic emissions, the measurement procedure described by Andy Leimer of the FCC OET Laboratory (FCC Procedure for Pulsed Signals.txt, dated 11/16/99) was used. Per step (C), if the harmonic emissions are viewed in pulse spectrum mode, the level of the harmonic emissions are measured using analyzer settings as listed in the Hewlett Packard Application Northwest EMC Harmonics and Spurious Radiated Emissions Revision 11/14/02 PRCO0010 Note 150-2 (Spectrum Analysis...Pulsed RF, Nov. 1971) such that a true pulse spectrum is obtained (RBW greater than PRF). The video bandwidth should be equal to, or greater than the RBW. The pulse repetition frequency (PRF) of the fundamental emission was measured to be 2.78 MHz; therefore a 3 MHz resolution bandwidth (RBW) and a 7 MHz video bandwidth (VBW) were used to measure the harmonic emissions. A pulse desensitization factor in dB (calculated from Equation 10 in HP Note 150-2) is added to the measured levels to obtain the “true peak levels”. The pulse width was measured to be 14.1 nS; therefore a 24 dB pulse desensitization factor was used (k = 1.5, B = 3 MHz). The average levels of the harmonic emissions are the “true peak levels” measured above minus the calculated duty cycle factor in dB. The duty cycle correction factor is calculated from Equation 4 in HP Note 150-2. The pulse width was measured to be 14.1 nS and the PRF = 2.78 MHz; therefore a 28 dB duty cycle correction factor was used. Harmonic Emissions – Line Spectrum Mode Unless otherwise noted on the data, all the measurements of harmonic emissions were made in Pulse Spectrum Mode. If a measurement was made in Line Spectrum Mode, it would have been made in the following manner: To determine the “true peak level” of harmonic emissions, the measurement procedure described by Andy Leimer of the FCC OET Laboratory (FCC Procedure for Pulsed Signals.txt, dated 11/16/99) was used. Per step (b), if a harmonic emission is viewed in line spectrum mode (HP Note 150-2), the average level of the harmonic emission equals the level of the line…
