No. 3.0, 2014-01-30 2 S U M M A R Y GENERAL REMARKS: All radiated tests have been performed on samples which are in original state. The test report covers complete testing on TSSRE4Ud and partly testing with TSSRE4Dg in conjunction with TeeLeFant and Testsoftware. For activating the EuT a “Trigger device, TeeLeFant” was used to power up the Wheel Unit Sensor in the different operation modes. The EuT has an incorporated antenna and is powered by a primary battery. Declaration of the manufacturer The EUT is a wireless tire pressure and temperature sensor for vehicles equipped with a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS). The EUT consists of four parts, the sensor and the tire valve, with C case Tantal and with flash memory. In use the device is permanently affixed inside the tire with the valve. There are two housing variants, one for metal valves (M), and another for rubber valves (R). The PCBA (Tx part) and the battery are always the same. No. 3.0, 2014-01-30 For testing the manufacturer declares following transmitting intervals: The TPMS sensor includes already all possible application cases in its program memory and is configured once by a professional installer. Upon manually activated LF request (through special configuration tool at a vehicle dealership), the EUT respond with a single RF transmission (sensor type information). In the second step the tool will send the configuration data on LF and the EUT will respond with a single confirmation transmission. Now the TPMS sensor is configured for the target vehicle application. When the EUT is mounted in the vehicle tire in the worst case, periodically RF transmission where the duration of each transmission is always less than 1 second and the silent period is at least 30 times the duration of the transmission, and never less than 10 seconds. In the case of an emergency condition (rapid pressure loss), the devise will transmit tire pressure and temperatu…

Transmitter Field Strength levels measured in section 5.2.3 are all based on measurements of a CW signal with 100% duty cycle, to allow the measurement to be made. Lower Mode = EUT Transmit in CW mode on the lower frequency f1 Upper Mode = EUT Transmit in CW mode on the upper frequency f2 Where the lower and upper frequencies are the frequency shift associated with the FSK signal. The nominal frequency shift is 60 kHz For the ASK signal, the EUT uses the centre frequency. The highest measured level was: 57.9 dBμV/m peak. Adding antenna factors etc., gives: 77.8 dBμV/m peak The duty cycle reduction associated with the FSK signal is ‐21.31 dB, which results in an average level of: (77.8‐21.31): 56.5 dBμV/m The duty cycle reduction associated with the ASK signal is ‐23.22 dB, which results in an average level of: (77.8‐23.22): 54.6 dBμV/m

Measurements between 30 MHz and 1000 MHz are made with 120 kHz/6 dB bandwidth and quasi-peak detection. Table top equipment is placed on a 1.0 X 1.5 metres non-conducting table 80 centimetres above the ground plane. Floor standing equipment is placed directly on the turntable/ground plane. The set up of the EUT will be in accordance to ANSI C63.4. The Interface cables that are closer than 40 centimetres to the ground plane are bundled in the centre in a serpentine fashion so they are at least 40 centimetres from the ground plane. Cables to simulators/testers (if used in this test) are routed through the centre of the table and to a screen room located outside the test area. The antenna was positioned 3, 10 or 30 metres horizontally from the EUT. To locate maximum emissions from the test sample the antenna is varied in height from 1 to 4 metres, measurement scans are made in horizontal and vertical antenna polarization’s and the EUT is rotated 360 degrees. The set up of the Equipment under test will be in accordance to ANSI C63.4. The antenna was positioned 3, 10 or 30 meters horizontally from the EUT. Measurements have been made in all three orthogonal axes and the shielded loop antenna was rotated to locate the maximum of the emissions. In the case where larger measuring distances are required the results will extrapolated based on the values measured on the closer distances according to Section 15.31(f)(2)(2). The final measurement will be performed with an EMI Receiver set to Quasi Peak detector except for the frequency bands 9 kHz to 90 kHz and 110 to 490 kHz where an average detector will be used according to Section 15.209(d)(2).
