frontline labor management solutions Kronos 4500 Badge Terminal Features Overview [] Time and Attendance Data Collection Devices Kronos 4500 Badge Terminal Collecting accurate employee labor data is the single-most important step in any labor management process. Without it, your organization can’t be assured that it is effectively managing and monitoring its labor resources. To help meet this challenge, Kronos introduces the Kronos 4500 badge terminal, a high speed, network-centric terminal that captures and manages labor data easily and effectively. The Kronos 4500 terminal gives the user a very easy-to-use interface with an ATM-like display that is secure and “intelligent,” while at the same time providing managers with the tools and functionality they need to manage their labor force. The fastest data collection device on the market today — and the easiest to use The Kronos 4500 terminal offers many benefits, striking a balance between providing an easy-to-use interface for employees and more sophisticated manager-level functionality. Superior interface creates new efficiencies— The Kronos 4500 terminal’s programmable soft keys and their supporting functions offer the user a familiar, ATM-like display that is menu-driven and highly intuitive. The soft keys are fully programmable and eliminate the need to memorize function keys. The large, 3" x 4" display is backlit for clear readability and has a scrollable message display. Manager “quick edits” allow supervisors to respond to staffing changes on the fly and one-touch department transfers reduce employee time spent at the terminal. Additionally, smart menu mapping makes complex transactions very easy to program and execute, saving significant time and effort. “Swipe and go” interaction—Employees simply swipe their badges through the badge reader, and the terminal determines what kind of punch it is. No more “in” and “out” punches are required. The Kronos 4500 terminal also utilizes visual and auditory feedback for calling attention to displayed messages, and this feedback confirms correct entries. Also, terminal configurations eliminate unauthorized overtime by restricting employee access based on work schedules. Additional features include display of employee name, leave time or other totals, and messaging. Terminal functions can accommodate very large volumes of employ- ees, shifts, current and future schedules, as well as transaction data. Specifically the Kronos 4500 terminal’s functions include: •Simple punch•Activity code transfers •Review punches•Cancel meal deduction •Display last punch•Display current schedule •Restrict punches•Display next schedule •Time since last punch•Display status •Labor transfers •Tips support •Labor entry validation Enables employee self-service Empowers employees to manage their own labor information— The Kronos 4500 terminal gives employees self-service access to their individual accounts, allowing them to view leave balance data and other employee-specific labor information. Employees can view such information as total hours worked and available benefit time balances, enabling employees to plan time off and eliminating inquiries to the HR/payroll department. Employees can review current or upcoming schedules and can scroll through their last series of punches to confirm correct entries. In addition, supervisors can send text messages, such as scheduling information or summary of hours worked, to their employees — creating a timely and efficient method of communication. Designed for ease of ownership Easily and quickly installed— The Kronos 4500 badge terminal meets the performance demands of today’s networks with built- in auto-sensing 10/100 Mbit Ethernet and TCP/IP protocol support. The terminal uses an embedded server to ensure fast, reliable communications over wide area and local area networks. The Kronos 4500 terminal offers one-screen configuration, which facilitates simple and efficient set-up. Fast installation leads to a decrease in deployment costs, frees up IT resources, and provides your organization with the information needed to control and manage labor costs more quickly. ©2001, Kronos Incorporated. The simple, consistent, and intuitive user interface decreases total cost of ownership (TCO), which is significantly lower than other products that require administrators to have knowledge of complicated configuration file syntax. Furthermore, all software feature enhancements are upgraded over the network. Trouble-free maintenance — The Kronos 4500 terminal is designed to be installed, configured, easily removed, and maintained by you, reducing your need for assistance from Kronos service or dealer personnel. Radiated test procedure: The EUT, associated cables and peripheral devices are placed on the supporting table with any support equipment placed off the site. The EUT is turned on and any necessary operating or test software installed and is allowed to warm up. The frequency band from 100 kHz to 1 GHz is scanned. When a signal is found the emission is maximized by varying the bundle position of the connecting cables, antenna height, antenna polarization (vertical and horizontal), the EUT is examined in 3 orthogonal planes and the table orientation (360 degrees). The maximum reading is recorded and the next signal is searched for. All measurements are made according to the procedures defined in: “ANSI C63.4 – 1991/92 Methods of Measurement of Radio-Noise Emissions from Low-Voltage Electrical and Electronic Equipment in the range of 9kHz to 40GHz.” Page 6 of 6 Compliance Worldwide, Inc. - 357 Main Street - Sandown, NH 03873 (603) 887 3903 Fax 887 6445 http://www.cw-inc.com Test Number - 288-01 Kronos, Inc.
