General Description LM-WM860A-R is compliant with mini PCI standard Adapter. The Atheros 802.11b/g/n IEEE802.11n technique delivers up to 54Mbps (802.11g) or 300Mbps 11n data rate, the bandwidth support 20MHz and 40MHz for legacy WLAN standard and also fulfilled high throughput data rate requirement on IEEE802.11n, it uses 2 sets of 2.4GHz Tx / Rx antenna’s combinations, since the IEEE802.11b/g is CCK & OFDM modulation scheme and used CCK modulation to follow backward compatible with IEEE802.11b, up to 54Mbps on single 2.4GHz frequency band. It supports the Quality of Service for 802.11e. (WMM) feature to enable robust wireless streaming of audio and video content while remaining compatible with any 802.11b/g devices. 2.1. Ltd., Taoyuan Branch Dec. 27, 2010 Dear Application Examiner, Delta Networks, Inc., It’s 802.11 bgn RF Module, FCC ID: PD5-LMWM860A would like to have your authorization as a modular approval specific to the mobile RF exposure condition. The requirements of section 15.212 of FCC rules have been met and shown on the following statements. “The modular transmitter must have its own RF shielding.”: The radio portion of this module has been shielded, please see exhibition External Photo. 1. “The modular transmitter must have buffered modulation/data inputs.” The EUT has buffered data inputs, it is integrated in chip AR9223 2. “The modular transmitter must have its own power supply regulation part no.: RT8010 3. “The modular transmitter must comply with the antenna requirements of section 15.203 and 15.204(C).” The EUT meets the FCC antenna requirements. The spurious emission, unique antenna connector and photo of antennas are shown in the test report. 4. “The modular transmitter must be tested in a stand-alone configuration”. The EUT is tested in a stand-alone configuration via a PCMCIA to mini-PCI extender. Please see section Photographs of Test Configuration in the test report. 5. “The modular transmitter must be labeled with its own FCC ID number.” Please see exhibition Label Sample for the FCC ID of this module. And also in the exhibition Users Manual, there are instructions give to the OEM on how to label the end product. FCC ID: PD5-LMWM860A Report No.: RF991207C23 OPERATIONAL DESCRIPTION This device is an 802.11 bgn RF Module, which operates in the 2.4GHz frequency spectrum with throughput of up to 300Mbps which OFDM technique will be applied. If the signal to noise ratio is too poor which could not support 300Mbps, the 11Mbps data rate with DSSS technique will be applied. The transmitter of the EUT is powered by the host equipment. The antenna is used printed antenna with UFL connector. For more detailed instruction, please take a look at the user’s manual.

Approval is limited to OEM installation only. OEM integrators and end-users must be provided with transmitter operating conditions for satisfying RF exposure compliance requirements.
