With the PCMCIA adapter’s 68-pin connector facing the PCMCIA slot and the “Network PC Card” label facing up, slide the PCMCIA adapter completely into the PCMCIA slot. Insert the driver CD into your CD drive. The Hardware Installation is complete. Driver Installation Install Driver Under Windows XP 1. Connect the Wireless PC card into your Notebook PC. Windows XP will automatically recognize a new Intersil PRISM_2_5_ PCMCIA_ADAPTER . Select Install the software automatically [Recommended] and click the Next button to proceed. Wireless PC Card 3 2. Windows will notify you that it has not passed Windows Logo testing to verify its compatibility with Whistler. Click the Continue Anyway button to continue. 3. Windows has now completed installing the network. Click the Finish button to continue. Wireless PC Card 4 4. Click right on My computer and select properties . Select Device Manager and click on the Network adapters . You will find the Intersil PRISM2.5 PCMCIA Adapter if it is installed successfully. The PC card adapter driver installation is finished. Wireless PC Card 5 Install Driver Under Windows 98 1. Connect the Wireless PC card into your Notebook PC. Windows 98 will automatically recognize a new Intersil-PRISM 2_5 PCMCIA ADAPTER . Click the Next button to proceed. 2. Make sure Search for the best driver for your device is selected and click the Next button. Wireless PC Card 6 3. Make sure the Specify a location is selected and click the Browse button. At this point, Windows will ask you to browse for the folder. Introduction 2.4 GHz frequency band is regarded specially as a dangerous band for its heating harmfulness to the human body. That’s why microwave oven is operating in this frequency band. The manufacturer whose product is working in this frequency band is obligatory to prove the harmfulness of his product. In this document, we try to prove the safety of radiation harmfulness to the human body for our product. The limit for Maximum Permissible Exposure (MPE) specified in FCC 1.1310 is followed. The Gain of the antenna used in this product is measured in a Fully Anechoic Chamber (FAC), and the maximum total power input to the antenna is measured. Through the Friis transmission formula and the maximum gain of the antenna, we can calculate the distance, away from the product, where the limit of MPE is reached. 2. Classification The antenna of the product, under normal use condition, is at least 20 cm away from the body of the user. Warning statement for keeping 20 cm separation distance and the prohibition of operating next to a person has been printed on the users manual. So, this product is classified as the Mobile Device. 3.
