Wireless PC Card User Manual Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Compliance Notice: Radio Frequency Notice This device complies with part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: 1. This device may not cause harmful interference. 2. This device must accept any interfere nce received, including interference that may cause undesired operation. Note: This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. It is designed for notebook computers running Microsoft Windows 98, 2000, NT, Millennium and XP. It is 16-bit PCMCIA and 32-bit CardBus compatible and works in any available PCMCIA or CardBus slot. Its auto-sensing capability allows packet transfer in 11Mbps for maximum throughput, or speed reduction to the lower 1Mbps speed for distance or working in a noisy environment. Driver Installation Install Driver Under Windows XP 1. Connect the Wireless PC card into your Notebook PC. Windows XP will automatically recognize a new Intersil PRISM_2_5_ PCMCIA_ADAPTER . Select Install the software automatically [Recommended] and click the Next button to proceed. Wireless PC Card 3 2. Windows will notify you that it has not passed Windows Logo testing to verify its compatibility with Whistler. Click the Continue Anyway button to continue. 3. Windows has now completed installing the network. Click the Finish button to continue. Wireless PC Card 4 4. Click right on My computer and select properties . Select Device Manager and click on the Network adapters . You will find the Intersil PRISM2.5 PCMCIA Adapter if it is installed successfully. The PC card adapter driver installation is finished. Wireless PC Card 5 Install Driver Under Windows 98 1. Connect the Wireless PC card into your Notebook PC. Windows 98 will automatically recognize a new Intersil-PRISM 2_5 PCMCIA ADAPTER . Click the Next button to proceed. 2. Make sure Search for the best driver for your device is selected and click the Next button. Wireless PC Card 6 3. Make sure the Specify a location is selected and click the Browse button. At this point, Windows will ask you to browse for the folder. Simply select the folder in which the driver is located and click the OK button. 4. Windows is now ready to install the driver. Click the Next button to continue. Wireless PC Card 7 5. Windows has now completed installing the network. Click the Finish button to continue. 6. After installing the drivers, the System Setting Change screen will show you that installation is complete. Tel: +886 2 8797 2088 Fax: +886 2 2659 1462 Delta Networks, Inc. Installation Guide for the RF Module This module has been authorized under FCC ID: PD5LMWP200A under mobile module approval category. The integrator of this module has to be aware that this module can only be used in mobile host equipment such as Access Point or Router. The host equipment should provide an internal mini-pci interface for the main board of this module. Also the housing of the host equipment should provide an antenna socket for the installation of the filed antenna. The folded part of these antennas has to be fixed with the housing of the host equipment, which makes the end users impossible to remove the antenna unless destroy the housing. The photo of this antenna is shown below, also the folded part of each antenna type has been indicated. Folded Part Delta Networks, Inc. So, the end product integrator should be aware that the antenna of the end product has to be kept at least 20cm away from the human being under normal use condition. Operational Description

FCC ID: PD5LMWP200A ADT No.910731R02 Operational Description The transmitter of the EUT (WLAN PCMCIA Card) is powered by host equipment via a PCMCIA interface. The antenna is Dipole antenna, and the antenna connector type is Reversed SMA. Under normal use condition, the user has to keep at least 20cm separation distance between radiator and the body of the user. This project is seeking the authorization of limited module approval specific to the mobile device such as Access Point and Router. The other instruction, please have a look at the users manual. DSSS Information This device is Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum, the data is mixed by pseudorandom code which is an orthogonal code. The mixed data is digital modulated by BPSK and QPSK technique depends on the data rates. The CCK coding is applied for increasing the data rate, and also the processing gain will be increased. The bit rates are 1,2,5.5,11Mbps, the symbol rates are 1,1,1.375,1.375Mbps, the chip rates are always 11Mbps. So, the Chip/symbol is 11,11,8 and 8 respectively. Although is higher bit rate, the processing gain is lower than 10, but the CCK coding used in higher bit rate will provide 2.2dB coding gain.

Introduction 2.4GHz frequency band is regarded specially as a dangerous band for its heating harmfulness to the human body. That’s why microwave oven is operating in this frequency band. The manufacturer whose product is working in this frequency band is obligatory to prove the harmfulness of his product. In this document, we try to prove the safety of radiation harmfulness to the human body for our product. The limit for Maximum Permissible Exposure (MPE) specified in FCC 1.1310 is followed. Warning statement for keeping 20cm separation distance and the prohibition of operating next to a person has been printed on the user’s manual. So, this product is classified as the Mobile Device. 3.
