VSUB233 User’s Manual 900/433 MHz RadioLink InterPoint RTS Vantage Controls 1061 South 800 East Orem, UT 84097 (801) 229-2800 May 12, 2006FCC Compliance Information FCC ID: PII-VSUB233 IC: 3505A-VSUB233 This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1)This device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) This device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation. NOTE: This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates, uses and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation. If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the following measures: -- Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna. -- Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver. -- Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the receiver is connected. -- Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for help. Introduction The VSUB233 is an RF transceiver module. It interfaces with other equipment using standard serial asynchronous communications protocol at a rate between 600 and 57600 baud. The transmitter has a peak output power of 31.6mW. The device operates under FCC approval in the 902-928 MHz ISM frequency band as well as the 433.075 – 434.775 MHz LPD frequency band. Installing the VSUB233 The VSUB233 may be plugged into any properly located 120VAC outlet inside a weather proof environment. The RTSS incorporates 2 separate RF circuits. The RTS transmitter operates at 433.4 MHz. The RadioLink transceiver is frequency hopping, spread spectrum and operates in the 902 – 928 MHz band. The use of a permanently attached antenna or of an antenna that uses a unique coupling to the intentional radiator shall be considered sufficient to comply with the provisions of this Section. The manufacturer may design the unit so that a broken antenna can be replaced by the user, but the use of a standard antenna jack or electrical connector is prohibited. Further, this requirement does not apply to intentional radiators that must be professionally installed, such as perimeter protection systems and some field disturbance sensors, or to other intentional radiators which, in accordance with Section 15.31(d), must be measured at the installation site.
