The modular transmitter TR800CE-MCX has its own RF shielding. This is intended to ensure that the module does not have to rely upon the shielding provided by the device into which it is installed in order for all modular transmitter emissions to comply with Part 15 limits. It is also intended to prevent coupling between the RF circuitry of the module and any wires or circuits in the device into which the module is installed. Such coupling may result in non-compliant operation. 2. The modular transmitter TR800CE-MCX has buffered modulation/data inputs and a proprietary serial communication protocol to ensure that the module will comply with Part 15 requirements under conditions of excessive data rates or over-modulation. 3. The modular transmitter TR800CE-MCX has its own power supply regulation. This is intended to ensure that the module will comply with Part 15 requirements regardless of the design of the power supplying circuitry in the device into which the module is installed. 4. The modular transmitter TR800CE-MCX complies with the antenna requirements of Section 15.203 and 15.204(c). The radio module has a “unique” antenna coupler (MCX connector). All antennas intended to be used with the module have been tested for approval with the module as indicated in the “Certification Application Report for Limited Modular Approval Report”, at the time of initial authorization. 5. The modular transmitter TR800CE-MCX has been tested in a stand-alone configuration, i.e., the module must not be inside another device during testing. This is intended to demonstrate that the module is capable of complying with Part 15 emission limits regardless of the device into which it is eventually installed. It complies with the Ángel Iglesias S.A. Paseo Miramón 170 20009 San Sebastián SPAIN Tel.: +34 943 44 88 00 Fax.: +34 943 44 88 20 [email protected] www.ikusi.com FEDERAL COMMUNICATIONS COMMISSION Equipment Authorization Branch 7435 Oakland Mills Road Columbia, MD 21046 AC line conducted requirements found in Section 15.207. AC or DC power lines and data input/output lines connected to the module did not contain ferrites, since they will not be marketed with the module (see Section 15.27(a)). The length of these lines shall has been at least 10 centimetres to insure that there is no coupling between the case of the module and supporting equipment. Any accessories, peripherals, or support equipment connected to the module during testing will be unmodified or commercially available (see Section 15.31(i)). 6. The modular transmitter TR800CE-MCX will be labelled with its own FCC ID number, and, since the FCC ID is not visible when the module is installed inside the whole system, then IKUSI will provide a label in the outside of the device into which the module is installed displaying this wording: “Contains FCC ID: PVTTR800CE-MCX.” TR800CE-MCX is intended to be used only in transmitters manufactured by IKUSI and will not be sold standalone. For this reason, IKUSI applies for a limited modular transmitter approval. 7. The modular transmitter TR800CE-MCX complies with any specific rule or operating requirements applicable to the transmitter. No instructions will be provided along with the module to explain any such requirements, since TR800CE-MCX is intended to be used only in transmitters manufactured by IKUSI and will not be sold standalone. For this reason, IKUSI applies for a limited modular transmitter approval . 8. The modular transmitter TR800CE-MCX complies with any applicable RF exposure requirements as stated in the “Certification Application Report for Limited Modular Approval Report”, and is intended to be certified along with any possible host IKUSI might eventually release to the market. For this reason, IKUSI applies for a limited modular transmitter approval. I remain at your disposition for any query or further details. Yours faithfully, Borja Pérez Domínguez R&D Manager
