Addendum to User GuideThis phone model has been certified in compli ance with the governmentís requirements for exposure to radio wave s. This mobile phone model P910i has been designed to comply with applicable safety requirements fo r exposure to radio waves. Your wireless phone is a radio transmitter a nd receiver. It is designed to not exceed the limits for exposure to radio frequency ( RF) energy set by the Federal Communications Commission (F CC) of the U.S. Government. These limits establish permitted levels of RF energy for the general population. The guidelines are based on standards that were developed by international scientific organizations through pe riodic and thorough evaluation of scientific studies. The standards include a safety margin designed to assure the safety of all persons, r egardless of age and health. The exposure standard for wireless mobile phones employs a unit of measurement known as the Specific Absorption Rate, or SAR. The SAR limit set by the FCC is 1.6 W/kg.* Te sts for SAR are conducted using standard operating positions accepted by the FC C with the phone transmitting at its highest certified power leve l in all tested frequency bands. Although the SAR is determined at the highest ce rtified power level, the actual SAR level of the phone whil e operating can be well below the maximum value. This is because the phone is designed to operate at multiple power levels so as to use onl y the power required to reach the network. In general, the clos er you are to a wireless base station antenna, the lower the power output. Before a phone model is available for sale to the public, it must be tested and certified to the FCC that it does not exceed the limit established by the government-adopted requirement for safe exposure. The tests are performed in positions and locations (i.e., at the e ar and worn on the body) as required by the FCC for each model. The highest SAR value as reported to the FCC for this model phone whe n tested for use at the ear is 1.31 W/kg (1g) and when worn on the body is 0.40 W/kg (1g). The FCC has granted an Equipment Author ization for this model phone with all reported SA R levels evaluated as in compliance with the FCC RF exposure guidelines. While there m ay be differences between the SAR levels of various phones, al l mobile phones granted an FCC equipment authorization meet the government requirement for safe exposure. SAR information on this model phone is on fil e with the FCC and can be found under the Display Grant section of http: //www.fcc.gov/oet/fccid after searching on FCC ID PY7F B021012. Additional information on Specific Absorption Rates (SAR) can be f ound on the Cellular Telecommunications & Internet Association (CTI A) web-site at http://www.phonefacts.net . * In the United States and Canada, the SAR l imit for mobile phones used by the public is 1.6 watts/kilogram (W/kg) averaged over one gram of tissue. The standard incorporates a margin of safety to give additional protection for the public and to account for any variations in measurements.
