Users Manual

LASERnode LN1 user manual. Overview State-of-the-art wireless transmitter for laser diffusers. The Cheetah LASERnode makes other manufacturers’ products ActiveStealth compatible allowing their warnings to be integrated with GPS on a single in-car device. Simply connect to any compatible laser diffuser and it transmits the alerts wirelessly to ActiveStealth GPS enabled PDAs, smartphones or satellite navigation systems. It also enables diffusers to work with any Cheetah warning unit, making their alerts useable on a motorcycle. Essential Accessories: 1. A corresponding LASERnode connector cable is required for each diffuser. This is supplied free of charge with the original purchase of a LASERnode unit. 2. A Cheetah power supply is also required (not included). Choose from one of the following to complement the installation: • POWERSENSEnode for simple, easy, automatic power control. Switches power ON when the engine is running and OFF when the engine stops. • STEALTHnode for total ActiveStealth GPS control of external equipment. • Hard wire cable to connect to a fused, switched power supply. Works with: The LASERnode wirelessly connects the world’s top laser diffusers to any Cheetah display unit, including ActiveStealth enabled GPS devices. See www.speedcheetah.com for full details of compatible laser diffusers and display units. Installation All Cheetah cables and accessories are fitted with Cheetah’s 2-pin mini connector plugs to ensure easy installation. These plugs simply push together and lock securely. They can be easily unclipped at any time by pressing the small lever downwards and gently pulling apart. Location The LASERnode is weatherproof. We recommend the use of a protective casing to enclose the diffuser’s interface box, which might not be weatherproof. Mount the equipment high up and to the side of the engine bay, ensuring it is far away from the engine. This will further protect the electronics from excessive heat, dust and moisture. Run the cables in such a way as they are securely fastened and do not come in to contact with any engine part that generates high heat, such as the radiator, exhaust system or the engine block. Fitting Step 1. Mount the diffuser head according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Step 2. Connect the diffuser to the Cheetah LASERnode. See the simple diagram supplied with the appropriate LASERnode connector cable for further details. The POWER OUT cable supplies power to the laser diffuser. The BUZZER IN cable receives buzzer alerts from the laser diffuser. Step 3. For stress free power control, clip the LASERnode’s POWER IN cable to a POWERSENSEnode or STEALTHnode attached directly to the vehicle’s 12V battery. Alternatively, use the hard wire cable to connect to a switched, fused supply. Technical Details Power Requirements: 11.0-15.0 Volts DC 3A max Dimensions and Weight: Temperature Range: Operating: -20°C to +70°C (-4°F to +158°F) Storage: -30°C to +85°C (-22°F to +185°F) How to interpret alerts The Cheetah LASERnode will transmit diffuser alerts wirelessly to any Cheetah warning unit for as long as the original diffuser’s buzzer was programmed to alert. The actual display will depend on which other Cheetah warning unit is installed. Operational Description

Make your laser device wireless! Display alerts on any of our display units, or link with ActiveStealth GPS enabled PDAs, smartphones or Sat Nav units. This easy to fit LASERnode unit connects to your choice of the following laser units, using the supplied connector cable*: • LE 30 • Blinder M20 • Blinder M40 • LaserPro Park • LT 400 The LASERnode intelligently recognises which laser device it is connected to and automatically selects the correct mode. You don't have to select anything! It's that easy - it just works! The LASERnode transmitter makes all these laser devices wireless and ActiveStealth Compatible. The LASERnode sends wireless diffuser alerts to the SMARTnode GPS receiver via a high speed wireless datalink and the SMARTnode instantly relays it as a Bluetooth warning to your PDA, Smartphone or sat nav device running ActiveStealth software. The LASERnode also makes all these laser devices compatible with Cheetah’s other products, allowing diffuser warnings to be given through the following warning units: • AUDIOnode • LIGHTnode • GPS Mirror • Cheetah Sentinel
