You may clean the enclosure of your patient station with a soft cloth or a cloth dampened with tap water and a mild detergent. 2. To clean the video screen you may wipe it with a soft cloth. The use of house hold cleaning agents is not recommended. 3. Prevent direct sun light from shining onto the video screen. 4 B. Administration Setup 1. You must configure each peripheral that will be used with your NX Patient station. At the administration Setting screen you must select each device and then click on the Register button. If a device is already registered it will have a check mark in the Registered box. Press Register to proceed with the device registration and follow direction shown on the screen. 5 When the device registration is complete, all selected devices will be checked as Registered. 6 2. You must also set up an ISP account for your unit. 3. Patient ID will also be entered in the administration section. C. Criteria Selection Screen 1. Once your patient station is active, you will be presented with the selection screen. You will make a selection by clicking on the appropriate box as seen below. D. Steps For Using the Blood Pressure/Pulse Meter 1. When you have chosen the Blood Pressure selection, the following screen will appear. 7 2. Follow the instructions by placing the blood pressure cuff on your arm as previously shown by your healthcare provider. The tubing must be placed over the inner aspect of your arm and extend downward from the lower end of the cuff toward your hand. 3. Once a reading is displayed on your blood pressure meter, press the large blue button on the meter. This will turn your meter off and save the readings within the meter. You can then remove the blood pressure cuff. 4. Press the Retrieve Reading button to save the reading within your monitoring unit. Helpful Hints: 1. It is important that you remain relaxed during your blood pressure check. Anxiety, movement, or talking may cause an increase in your blood pressure reading. 2. It is best to place the cuff directly over your skin. However, it may be placed over thin clothing. 3. It is important that friends and family members do not use your blood pressure meter. Their results will also be stored within the meter and transferred into your file when your healthcare professional calls. E. Steps for Using the Scale 1. When you have chosen the scale selection the following screen will appear. 8 2. If using a Wireless Adaptor, step on the scale and choose “Please take a reading”. If not using a Wireless Adaptor, choose “Enter the readings”. The following screen will appear. 3. Enter in your weight by choosing the correct numbers. Once all numbers are entered, click on the enter button. 4. F. Operational Description

NX Patient Station - Description American TeleCare’s NX Patient Station guides patients, on a daily basis, through the process of taking their vital signs and answering questions about their health condition. The compact, easy to use unit is placed in the patient’s residence, where it will remind them every day at the same time to take their vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, weight, blood sugar, oxygen saturation, and others). It will also ask them a series of simple questions relating to their healthcare status, gathering additional objective and subjective information. After the vital signs measurements are taken, the NX Patient Station connects via the patient’s telephone line to the NX Web Server, located at the provider’s office, to upload the data into the patient’s record. Each patient record at the NX Web Server contains individualized physician recommended parameters. If received measurements are outside of those parameters, the software will indicate this by highlighting the information in red. The NX Web Server will also organize the data, identifying those patients whose vital signs are outside of physician recommended parameter, allowing providers to instantly determine which patients are at risk and in need of an intervention. Hundreds of patients can be simultaneously monitored. Subtle changes in the patient’s condition can be detected rapidly and interventions can be made in a timely manner, preventing a decline in condition which can lead to costly emergency room visits and hospitalizations. This means efficient, streamlined care provided when patients need it. The NX Patient Station is a part of the American TeleCare suite of complete home telehealth solutions. Features of the NX Patient Station Ease of Use: The NX Patient Station’s primary design consideration is ease of use for the patient. Even the frailest of patients is able to learn how to operate the system quickly. Reminders and instructions are given via a touch screen each time measurements are taken, ensuring that patients use the unit correctly and appropriately. Compact Footprint/Ease of Installation: The compact footprint of the NX Patient Station means minimal impact on the patient’s home. Its light weight and ergonomic packaging allow for easy transportation from clinic to home and home to clinic. Requiring only a telephone jack and electrical outlet, the NX Patient Station is seamlessly installed. Peripherals: The NX Patient Station’s peripherals include: blood pressure/pulse meter, weight scale, pulse oximeter, glucose meter, with others to follow. By customizing the unit to your patients’ needs, you will have access to data you need to accurately monitor your patients’ condition, determining when and whether an intervention should be made. Wireless Peripheral Connection: Bluetooth connection of peripherals minimizes complication and increases simplicity of use. Customized Parameter Selection: Providers can program the NX Web Server with physician recommended parameters for vital signs for each patient. Clinicians can easily identify which patients are outside of those parameters and make interventions in a timely manner. Electronic Questionnaire: Providers can upload into the NX Patient Station a set of pre- programmed questions pertaining to the patient’s condition as well as patient perception of their condition. Responses to these questions provide clinicians with additional data on which to base decisions. The user interface is a touch screen, with large, easy to read text. Electronic Data Transfer: Patient data is encrypted and sent on a daily basis to the web server at a pre-determined time via the telephone line in the patient’s home. Each patient has a record where data is stored, time and date stamped. Graphing: Accessing the NX Web Server, patient data can be graphed, providing a visual aid to detect patterns where an intervention may be necessary. Graphs and other reports can be printed and sent to the physician or any other provider that may be a part of the patient’s care team. Clinicians receive accurate information in a timely and consistent manner, ensuring that they have up-to-date information on patient status. Data Stratification, Prioritization, and Alert: A healthcare provider can monitor hundreds of patients per day. The browser based NX Web Server organizes patient data in order of priority, with clear visual indicators for those patients whose vital signs are outside of their physician recommended parameters. At a glance, clinicians can see which patients are at risk and respond to them. Timely decisions can be made on those patients most in need. With early intervention, patients can avoid emergency room visits and hospitalization, or when appropriate patients can go to the hospital before allowing the condition to become further exacerbated.

It guides patients on a daily basis, through the process of taking their vital signs and answering questions about their health condition. The compact, easy to use unit is placed in the patient’s residence, where it will remind them every day at the same time to take their vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, weight, blood sugar, oxygen saturation, and others). It will also ask them a series of simple questions relating to their healthcare status, gathering additional objective and subjective information. After the vital signs measurements are taken, the NX Patient Station connects via the patient’s telephone line to the NX Web Server, Located at the provider’s office, to upload the data into the patient’s record. Each patient record at the NX Web Server contains individualized physician recommended parameters. If received measurements are outside of those parameters, the software will indicate this by highlighting the information in red. The NX Web Server will also organize the data, identifying those patients whose vital signs are outside of physician recommended parameter, allowing providers to instantly determine which patients are at risk and in need of an intervention. Hundreds of patients can be simultaneously monitored. The incorporated Spread Spectrum (Blue Tooth) wireless transmitter communicates between the peripheral health measuring devices and the computer to record the measured data. The Spread Spectrum signal generation and transmission is performed by a chip made by CSR, Ltd (BlueCore 2 External single chip Blue Tooth System P/N: BC212013). All hardware functions are generated in this chip for the RF signals. The antenna is a BlueChip by Centurion Wireless Technologies, Inc. This component is ¼ wave antenna self contained in a miniature chip package. All RF and spread spectrum controls are hardware and software with no adjustments left to the operator. The Spread Spectrum output transmits on 79 frequencies with a dwell time at each frequency of 520 uS and a carrier frequency separation of 1.098 Mhz. The exact measured data is given in subsequent sections of this report. The receiver is a SAW based type device and do not have a local oscillator. This part of the system has been verified here at the lab also for radiated emissions and found to be compliant with the 15.109 regulation for Radiated Emission Limits. Quasi Peak Detection was used for measuring the Fundamental frequency signal and Average detection method was used to measure the Harmonics since they were all above 1000 Mhz. The Resolution BW was set at 100 Khz and the Video BW was set at 1 Hz with a Span of 0 Hz to perform the correct average detected measurements.
