Flarion is a privately-held firm, which was founded in 2000 when its original research & development team and technology were spun out of Bell Labs / Lucent Technologies. Technology Flarion’s patent-pending flash-OFDM™ technology was invented at Bell Labs in 1998 by a team of distinguished scientists, led by Flarion’s founder, Dr. Rajiv Laroia. It is a digital spread-spectrum based technology that divides its wireless signal into equally spaced frequency tones, each of which carries a portion of a user’s transmitted data. A tone can be thought of as a frequency, in the same way each key on a piano represents a unique frequency.
