DBH85 User Manual Rev 1.0 1 Introduction Introduction to Bluetooth Wireless Technology Bluetooth is a cable replacement, short- range wireless communication technology A Bluetooth chip is designed to replace cables by carrying the information normally carried by the cable, and transmitting it at a special frequency to a receiver Bluetooth chip, which will then give the information received to the cellular phones, personal digital assistants (PDA), desktop and notebooks computers, input-output devices (mouse, keyboards, printers), and home appliances. Bluetooth refers to a worldwide standard designed to operate in the internationally recognized ISM (Industrial Scientific and Medical) frequency band. Within the ISM band (2.4 GHz – 2.48 GHz) Bluetooth transmissions hop between 79 separate frequencies 1,600 times every second, and with a communication range of about 10 meters. Second Generation DALLAB Bluetooth Headset DALLAB Bluetooth Headset is designed for fashion-oriented, trendy people who are interested in complementing their outfit with a new kind of fashion accessory that also incorporates hands-free communication with your Bluetooth enabled mobile phone! Safety and General Information: IMPORTANT INFORMATION ON SAFE AND EFFICIENT OPERATION. READ THIS INFORMATION BEFORE USING YOUR HEADSET Electromagnetic Interference/Compatibility Note: Nearly every electronic device is susceptible to electromagnetic interference (EMI) if inadequately shielded, designed, or otherwise configured for electromagnetic compatibility. Aircraft When instructed to do so, turn off your phone when on board an aircraft. Any use of a phone must be in accordance with applicable regulations per airline crew. Medical Devices Pacemakers The health industry Manufactures Association recommends that a minimum of 6 inches (15cm) be maintained between a handheld wireless phone and a pacemaker. These recommendations are consistent with the independent research by, and recommendations of, Wireless Technology Research. DBH85 User Manual Rev 1.0 2 Persons with pacemakers should: • Always keep the phone and the Bluetooth phone module more than six inches from your pacemaker when the phone is turned ON. • Not carry the phone and the Bluetooth phone module in the breast pocket. • Use the ear opposite the pacemaker to minimize the potential for interference. • Turn OFF the phone immediately if you have any reason to suspect that interference is taking place. Hearing Aids Some digital wireless phones may interfere with some hearing aids. In the event of such interference, you may want to consult with your hearing aid manufacturer to discuss alternatives. Other Medical Devices If you use any other medical devices, consult the manufacturer of your device to determine if it is adequately shielded from RF energy. Your physician may be able to assist you in obtaining this information. Power Supply • Ensure to connect the power supply to designated power sources is as marked on the product. • To reduce the risk of damage to the electric cord, remove it from the outlet by holding on to the AC adapter rather than the cord. • Ensure the cord is positioned so that it will not be stepped on, tripped over or otherwise subjected to damage or stress. • Reduce the risk of electric shock by unplugging the unit from the power source before attempting to clean it. • The charger must not be used outdoors or in damp areas. Children Do not allow children to play with your Headset as it contains small parts that could be detached and hence create a choking hazard. The complexity of the technical specifications, however, means that full and thorough testing is impractical for both technical and economic reasons. Furthermore, there is no guarantee that a test sample which has Passed all the relevant tests conforms to a specification. Neither is there any guarantee that such a test sample will interwork with other genuinely open systems. The existence of the tests nevertheless provides the confidence that the test sample possesses the qualities as maintained and that is performance generally conforms to representative cases of communications equipment. The test results of this test report relate exclusively to the item tested as specified in 1.5. The test report may only be reproduced or published in full.
