American Telecommunications Certification Body Inc. 6731 Whittier Ave, McLean, VA 22101 March 25, 2004 RE: Arcadyan Technology Corporation FCC ID: RAXWN4501DARC I have a few comments on this Application. 1.) Viewing the External Photographs exhibit, there appear to be two models for this equipment; the white Siemens sample, and a black sample (Lucent?). If indeed there are two sample configurations for this product then please provide an additional label for the black sample. In addition, please review your Internal Photographs – it appears that some inside views between the two models might be missing. 2.) Can this device be set to channels other than 802.11b/g 1-11 by the user? Page 25 of the Manual indicates that channels up to 13 can be set. This is illegal in US and must be modified. Only 802.11b/g devices which use channels 1-11 are acceptable to the Commission. 3.) Despite the fact that both the chip antenna and dipole have the same gain, it is reasonable to expect that with different types of antennas there will be some differences in the spurious emissions profile. Was an evaluation of spurious emissions done with both the chip antenna and dipole? Were there any differences? 4.) A statement warning end users to maintain a distance of 20cm from this device appears to be missing from the Manual. Please correct or indicate to me where it can be found. 5.) The Safety Precautions on page 3 of the Manual indicate the USB cable must not be extended. This is contrary to the RF Safety precautions for RF category “Mobile” equipment where instructions must be given for the end user to maintain a distance of 20cm from the equipment and it’s antenna. Please resolve this discrepancy. William H. Please review it. 5. After confirmed with our client. The USB cable is intended to ship with the EUT, and the cable length is longer than 20cm. The warning information on the page 3 of the manual is only remind the user not to connect the additional cable by themselves.
