The model number of the radio module is CM9. The CM9 is Wistron’s version of the 802.11a/b/g mini PCI card developed by Atheros Communications (Sunnyvale, CA). The Atheros AR5213 (MAC) and AR5112 (Radio) IC’s are designed to cover the 4.9 – 5.8 GHz band, as shown in the attached product brief. Firetide purchases the CM9 module from Wistron as a tested and calibrated card. No tuning or programming of the CM9 card prior to final assembly is performed by Firetide. Tuning of the Hotport 3200 (output power and operating frequency) is done by using the HotView SW application provided with each unit. With Hotview, the end user can change the operating frequency to pre-set/pre-defined channels and can change (increase/decrease) the TX output power. The end user can only increase the power up to a factory set limit and not beyond. The factory set limit is based on the TX power levels measured during the FCC certification testing.
