Users Manual

- 1 - Multimedia Player Qvix(BDP3500) New Frontier for multimedia TV interface. Enjoy Qvix for your life! CAUTION: changes or modifications not expressly approved by the party responsible for compliance could void the user's authority to operate the equipment. Class B digital device or peripheral NOTE: This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates, uses and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation. If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the following measures: -- Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna. -- Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver. -- Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the receiver is connected. -- Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for help. - 2 - Contents 1. A/S Related Information 29 / Quality assurance and product warranty - 3 - 1. Precautions for Use Warnings for Safety • Thank you for purchasing the Qvix. Please, read the following information carefully before using the product. Warnings for Safety ► Qvix internal circuit does not have any parts that users can repair at will. If a fault occurs, please do not disassemble the unit at will. Such act may become a cause for fire. ► Do not install the unit in places with much oil, smoke, humidity, water and dust or in places exposed to rain and wind. The installation in those places may become a cause for failure. ► Make sure to install the unit in places with proper ventilation. Otherwise, it may be overheated causing a failure. ► Do not touch the power plug by wet hands. Do not use a damaged power cord or a loose outlet. Such use may become a cause for electric shock and fire. ► Do not put the unit near the places exposed to direct sunlight or hot stuff like a stove and a heater. Such position may become a cause for case distortion. ► Do not wipe the unit with benzene, thinner, gasoline or other volatile cleaner or abrasive. That’s because those substances may cause a danger of either product change or fire. ► Dropping the unit on the floor or giving a shock to the unit may do a serious damage to it, causing its case to be distorted. ► When mounting the hard disc on Qvix, be careful not to cause any static electricity inside the circuit board. The static electricity may become a cause for failure. ► Be careful not to have any foreign substances or water into the unit. They may become a cause for electric shock accidents. ► Do not do a damage to the power cord. - Do not bend, twist or stretch the power cord. - Do not place the mainframe or a heavy object onto the power cord. - Do not fix the power cord with a staple or a thumb tack. - Do not treat the power cord at will. - 4 - Precautions for Use • Thank you for purchasing the Qvix. Please read the following information carefully before using the product. 1. Put off the Qvix and TV power, when connecting any cables. 2. If the USB cable is connected to the Qvix with its power turned off, the Qvix is set to run in a storage mode. Before watching movies, please make sure to remove the USB cable from the Qvix mainframe. 3. If a newly purchased hard disc is mounted, please make sure to set its partition and format it before using it. 4. As for the hard disc formatted in an NTFS mode, it cannot be recognized by either Windows 98 or Windows ME, which does not support the NTFS. In this case, use it after deleting the partition of the hard disc, setting the partition to FAT32 again, and formatting it. 5. Protect the mainframe against heat fully before replacing or separating the hard disc in use. Some hard disc may generate much heat, causing a danger of getting burned. 6. Never turn off the power of the unit during its firmware upgrade. If the power turns off during firmware upgrade, the unit cannot run normally. - 5 - 2.
