American Telecommunications Certification Body Inc. 6731 Whittier Ave, McLean, VA 22101 October 18, 2005 RE: Overbreak, LLC FCC ID: RV827915570995 After a review of the submitted information, I have a few comments on the above referenced Application. 1) The block diagram should show the frequencies of all oscillators in the TX device (CFR 2.1033(a)(5)). Please update. 2) Please confirm that confidentiality is not required or requested on any exhibits. 3) The test report supports compliance to Part 15, however Part 15 specifies the limits and requirements. Test methods should follow ANSI C63.4-2003. Please ensure the device has been tested with this standard and update the report as necessary. 4) ANSI C63.4 specifies that a portable device must be tested while positioned in each of 3 axis in effort to obtain worse case results. The report suggests maybe only 2 positions were tested. Please review and correct as necessary. 5) Please confirm which antenna was used for testing of the fundamental. Please note that the FCC no longer allows use of Biconnical or Bi-Log type antennas < 30 MHz. Measurements must be made with loop antenna. Note that report states Horizontal and Vertical for fundamental emissions which suggests incorrect antenna was used. Please see provided interpretation. 6) Loop antenna measurements must be in compliance with loop antenna positioning requirements of ANSI C63.4 section 8.2.1. The report does not identify if this antenna was used and if these positioning requirements were met. 7) Please confirm RBW for measurements made > 30 MHz. Timothy R. Johnson Examining Engineer mailto: [email protected] The items indicated above must be submitted before processing can continue on the above referenced application. Failure to provide the requested information may result in application termination. Correspondence should be considered part of the permanent submission and may be viewed from the Internet after a Grant of Equipment Authorization is issued. Dear Tim, 1) A new revised block diagram has been prepared by the applicant. It will be uploaded. 2) It is indicated on the Form 731 that confidentiality is not required. 3) The revised test report mentions the ANSI C63.4-2003 as the test standard on page 2. The device has been tested with this standard. 4) Test report has been revised and will be uploaded. The requirement to position portable device in 3 orthogonal axis during exploratory test is mentioned at the bottom of page 6 of the test report. The positions mentioned on page 7 are only the initial configuration at the start of the test. 5) Test report has been amended to indicate the use of loop antenna for field strength measurement below 30MHz: see page 6 and page 8 of the revised test report. 6) See point 5) above. 7) The test report is amended to have the RBW = 120 kHz for measurement above 30 MHz stated explicitly in the remark on page 7. Yours sincerely, WAI Leong Page 1 of 1In 11/7/2005Printed for "Timothy R. Johnson" <[email protected]>
