RF Exposure Requirements Requirements: §1.1307(b)(1) and §1.1307(b)(2): Systems operating under the provisions of this section shall be operated in a manner that ensures that the public is not exposed to radio frequency energy levels in excess of the Commission’s Guidelines. Limit for Uncontrolled exposure (1,500 – 100,000 MHz): 1 mW/cm 2 or 10 W/m 2 EUT’s highest output power: 23.3 dBm (conducted measurement) Highest antenna gain: 26 dBi Minimum Separation Distance Calculation: Equation from page 18 of OET 65, Edition 97-01 S = PG / 4πR 2 or R = √(PG/(4πS)) where, S = Power Density P = Power Input to antenna G = Antenna Gain R = distance to the center of radiation of the antenna R = √(0.2137*398/(4π10) = 0.823 0.823 meter is the minimum separation distance.
