119 (j) Thermal noise power . The noise power in watts defined by the formula N=kTB where N is the noise power in watts, k is Boltzmann's constant, T is the absolute temperature in degrees Kelvin (e.g., 295 o K) and B is the emission bandwidth of the device in hertz. (k) Time window . An interval of time in which transmission is desired. Section 15.305 Equipment authorization requirement . PCS devices operating under this subpart shall be certificated by the Commission under the procedures in Subpart J of Part 2 of this Chapter before marketing. The application for certification must contain sufficient information to demonstrate compliance with the requirements of this subpart. Section 15.307 Coordination with fixed microwave service . (a) UTAM, Inc., is designated to coordinate and manage the transition of the 1910-1930 MHz band from Private Operational-Fixed Microwave Service (OFS) operating under Part 94 of this Chapter to unlicensed PCS operations, conditioned upon submittal to and acceptance by the Commission of: (1) A funding plan that is equitable to all prospective manufacturers of unlicensed PCS devices; and (2) A plan for "band clearing" that will permit the implementation of noncoordinatable (nomadic) devices and, in particular, noncoordinatable data PCS devices, as promptly as possible. The responsibilities of UTAM, Inc. include, but are not limited to, relocation of existing OFS microwave stations pursuant to requirements established in ET Docket No. 92-9, negotiating costs of relocation, ensuring that comparable facilities are provided, and resolving any disputes of interference to OFS microwave operations from unlicensed PCS operations. These responsibilities shall terminate upon a determination by the Commission that interference to OFS microwave operations from unlicensed PCS operations is no longer a concern. (b) Each application for certification of equipment operating under the provisions of this Subpart must be accompanied by an affidavit from UTAM, Inc. certifying that the applicant is a participating member of UTAM, Inc. In the event a grantee fails to fulfill the obligations attendant to participation in UTAM, Inc., the Commission may invoke administrative sanctions as necessary to preclude continued marketing and installation of devices covered by the grant of certification, including but not limited to revoking certification. (c) An application for certification of a PCS device that is deemed by UTAM, Inc. to be noncoordinatable will not be accepted until the Commission announces that a need for coordination no longer exists. [This was announced by Public Notice, DA 05-1005, April 4, 2005.] (d) A coordinatable PCS device is required to incorporate means that ensure that it cannot be activated until its location has been coordinated by UTAM, Inc. The application for certification shall contain an explanation of all measures taken to prevent unauthorized operation. This explanation shall
AA BB CC DD EE 4 4 3 3 2 2 1 1 The Kirk module is the DECT RF part which is controlled by a National SC14425 processor. This synchronises the 10.368MHz crystal which is the main clock device used for driving the bus & audio codec. It does this by using a 100Hz DECT sync waveform which is distributed centrally from the basestation via one of the unused pairs in the E1 cable. The H8 processor handles the E1 communication with the basestation via a PCM4351 transceiver & communicates to the SC14425 through an interrupt driven mailbox within a Xilinx FPGA. The audio is passed from the E1 transceiver (PCM30) to a separate mailbox within the FPGA to the SC14425. Introduction KIRK Radio Modul As a spin-off from our R&D efforts, we have created a new radio module for DECT. The module is intended for use in KIRK telecom products, but at the request of our business partners we now offer the module for sale. The KIRK radio module (KRM) represents frontline technology, and is unique in several ways: ∑ They are smaller than any existing radio modules with the same facilities ∑ They have outstanding performance ∑ They are mounted with the use of Ball Grid Array technology ∑ They are priced lower than existing, larger and less performing modules The DECT module comply with ETSI (ETS 300 175) requirements and meet the Generic Access Profile (GAP) requirements. KRM 1800 V2 is based on DECT technology from National Semiconductor (NSC) and PA technology from MURATA. 3. For attention Ray LaForge Today, 30 Jan 06 I have uploaded the required affidavit from UTAM. I apologise for the error, which stemmed from miss-interpretation of the notice DA05-1005. Also dealt with on that notice was the question of the special labelling. Am I correct in assuming that the labelling is no longer required. Regards Paul Harris TRL Compliance Ltd [email protected]

The portable part is a beltpack worn about the body. The fixed part constitutes two parts, an active antenna and a base unit. The base unit is rack mounted and is connected to the active antenna via a CAT-5 cable. This cable carries the data stream between the two units. It can also provide power from the base unit to the active antenna. The active antenna can also be powered from an additional power source. The system operates in the 1920MHz -1930MHz band. The system use 5 different frequency channels 1.728MHz apart using MC/TDMA/TDD (Multi Carrier / Time Division Multiple Access / Time Division Duplex) using QPSK modulation. The system employs a 10ms frame, divided into 24 equal timeslots, numbered 0-23. The system uses double- slots only, where a double-slot always begins on an even-numbered slot. The Base station always transmits in the first half of the frame, and the Portable always transmits on the duplex mate in the second half. A physical bearer is composed of a transmit double-slot and a receive double-slot. The two halves of a given bearer are always exactly half a frame (5ms, 12 slots) apart. During the testing the belt pack was frequency administered to allow operation on only certain channels during the test. The frequency administration was performed using software.
