This guide describes how to install the XR‐1000H on a pole or wall and execute the initial power up of the Array. The pole or wall can be a structure that is installed at ground level or on a roof. The XR‐1000H is not compatible with other Xirrus mounting options. For additional information, see the Wireless Array User’ s Guide. This document is intended ONLY for XR‐1000H model Arrays. For other XR models, please see the Quick In stallation Guide for that Array family. 1) You Need the Following Items Accessory Kit (included in each Wireless Array carton) contains mounting bracket and short ground wire. Appropriate tools, bands, screws, and/or anchors required for the desired mounting location. (not provided with the Array) Workstation with a Web browser to configure the Wireless Array. RJ‐45 Ethernet connection(s) to your wired network. Power—XR‐1000H Arrays are powered via Power over Gigabit Ethernet (PoGE) using an Ethernet Cat 5e or Cat 6 cable that also carries data traffic. You must provide a network connection and Ethernet cable run from a Xirrus PoGE Power Injector port for the Array Gigabit port. The Xirrus PoGE Power Injector requ ires an AC outlet. Use only Xirrus‐ supplied PoGE injectors. See the PoGE Installation Guide for more information. XR‐1000H Arrays are powered by one injector port rated at 33W …

FCC RE: Application for FCC ID: SK6-XR1000H To whom it may concern: The enclosed documents constitute a formal submittal and application for Equipment Authorization for an 802.11abgn (3x3) access point for outdoor installations pursuant to the following rules: Subpart C of Part 15 of FCC Rules (CFR 47), Intentional Radiators Subpart E of Part 15 of FCC Rules (CFR 47), UNII Devices The design is based on the same 3x3 radio module that has been previously approved under FCC ID: SK6XI-N450. There are two antenna options available. Elliott Laboratories, as duly authorized agent prepared this submittal. A copy of the letter of our appointment as agent is included with the application. If there are any questions or if further information is needed, please contact Elliott Laboratories for assistance. Sincerely, Mark E. Hill Staff Engineer Page 1 of 1
DFS Expedite Request Applicant: Xirrus FCC ID: SK6‐XR1000H Previously Granted: SK6XI‐N450 in the XR4000 host (4/8 radio host system), XR6000, XR1000 and XR2000 systems New device: SK6‐XR1000H which uses two modified SK6XI‐N450 modules in an outdoor hosts system. Technology: 802.11abgn, 3x3 radio, supports 20 and 40 MHz bandwidths Unchanged Bandwidths: 20 and 40MHz Unchanged Antenna: Antenna structure is integral to the module New higher gain external antennas Original antennas: 4dBi internal antennas New antennas: Terrawave, M6060060MO1D33607, three element, 2.4GHz ‐ 4 dBi, 5GHz ‐ 6dBi, Vertically polarized L‐Com, HG2458‐14DP‐3NF, three element (two vertical/one horizontal), 2.4GHz ‐ 14dBi, 5GHz ‐ 14dBi. Note ‐ the L‐com antenna will be used with RF cabling. Minimum cable loss is 5dB for 2.4GHz, and 8dB for 5GHz. The lowest gain antenna in the DFS bands would be the Terrawave, @ 6dBi. This was used during the DFS testing performed. Differences in DFS functioning, circuitry, software: The original module was modified to allow for external antenna connections. The integrated antenna was removed and SMA connectors were added to allow connections to the external antennas. The radio module driver and radio function software has not changed. The DFS software is unchanged. Differences between products: The CPU board is exactly the same CPU used on the XR1000. The radio boards were modified as explained above to allow connection to a external antennas. The enclosure was completely redesigned and made from metal to survive in an outdoor environment. Original testing performed by Elliott Labs New device tested by Elliott labs Sincerely, Mark E. Hill Staff Engineer, NTS Silicon Valley
