We recommend that you start charging your 12V battery before beginning assembly. Please see Battery Charging section beginning on page 5 for detailed instructions. • Read this manual carefully for important safety information and operating instructions before using your HMMWV M1045A2 TOW Missile Carrier. Please keep this manual for future reference as it contains important information. • This HMMWV M1045A2 TOW Missile Carrier is designed for use: on hard surfaces; on generally level terrain; and by children 8 years of age and up. • To prevent damaging the motors and gears, do not tow anything behind the HMMWV M1045A2 TOW Missile Carrier or overload it. • If you have any questions about your HMMWV M1045A2 TOW Missile Carrier, please call our service lines at 1-510-483- 5700 ext. 28 from 9 AM to 5 PM (EST) Monday through Friday. Alterations could cause a fire resulting in serious injury and could also ruin the electrical system. - Use of the wrong type battery or charger could cause a fire or explosion resulting in serious injury. • The 12V battery must be handled by adults only. The 12V battery is heavy and contains sulfuric acid (electrolyte). Dropping the 12V battery could result in serious injury. • Never allow children to charge the 12V battery. 12V battery charging must be done by adults only. A child could be injured by the electricity involved in charging the battery. • Never lift or carry the battery by the wires or connector. This can damage the battery and possibly cause a fire resulting in serious injury. Lift and carry the 12V battery by the case only. • Read the safety instructions on the 12V battery. • Examine the 12V battery, charger and their connectors for excessive wear or damage each time you charge the 12V battery. If damage or excessive wear is detected, do not use the charger or the 12V battery until you have replaced the worn or damaged part.
