Operation Manual of USB-2222 USB 2.4GHz RF Controller 1. Brief Introduction Thank you for purchasing our USB 2.4GHz RF controller. This controller is composed of Receiver and RF Controller with 4 axis and 12 fire buttons. this product supports Windows98/ME/2000/XP and has passed the Test of USB Telecommunication Protocol. 2. Feature z 4 axis and 12 fire buttons. 1 POV under the default interface of Windows system: X axis / Y axis Z axis Rz axis POV z USB 1.1 Port, compatible with USB2.0, plug and play type z Support Direct7.0A version and up, support most of dual vibration function z 2.4GHz RF Technology z Force connection function z Key off and motor on function z Low power consumption: For USB receiver, the load current < 15mA For RF controller (no vibration condition), the load current < 10mA z Support sleeping and awakening function, the load current for RF controller under sleeping condition < 0.4mA z LED indicator z TURBO LED indicator z Turbo speed adjustable z LED indicator & motor power off automatically under low voltage condition 3. Function description: 1). The connection of USB-2222G wireless controller and its installation of driving program: Program installation under Windows98/Me/Window2000/WinXP a). Enter Windows Insert disc Double click “SETUP”, and install the driving program as PC indicates. b). Start Control Panel Game Controller; c).Insert the plug of USB Receiver into PC USB port install the driving program as PC indicates PC will find out “Wireless USB Joystick” driving program automatically Attribute 2). RF Controller’s connection: a). Connect the USB Receiver with PC b). After loading the “RF controller” batteries, turn on the power switch, the controller and the receiver will connect automatically, thus the USB Receiver’s LED light is always on. c)..If the RF controller can’t be connected automatically when it is used for the first time, then press FC key to make “USB Receiver” come into force connection status, at this moment, the LED light of USB Receiver is on fast flashing, press and hold the controller’s key 9+key 11 simultaneously to make a re-matching for the controller. + 1 2 3 4 5 67 8 9 10 11 12 3). Turbo operation: a). Key from 1 to 8 can be separately set as Turbo key.: Press and hold “Turbo + digital key”, the pressed key bears Turbo function. Press “clear + digital key” if you want to clear up the digital key’s turbo function, the key’s Turbo status information will be saved in the USB Receiver, once the USB Receiver has no electricity, the key’s Turbo status information will be lost. b). 3 kinds of speed-adjusting functions: Press “Turbo + key 10” to change the Turbo speed. 4). Sleeping and awakening : As the controller’s power supply is from battery, in order to extend the battery life as far as possible, the controller will have no any key within 3 minutes and the 3D rocker has no wide range movement, then the controller will enter into sleeping status to save power. During sleeping, press any key to awaken it up , but the rocker can’t wake up the controller. 5). Motor on & off function: Select key “ 9+12” to shut off the motor’s vibration function and press again the key “9+12” to start the motor’s vibration function. 6). Low voltage detecting: The the battery’s voltage is lower than 3.2V, ,the Link LED and Turbo LED will flash simultaneously, and will automatically estimate the motor to save battery. 7). Automatic calibration: Shaking the left and right 3D rocker in a wide range can calibrate it automatically. 4. Batteries Installation 5. Keystroke Layout: 6. Troubleshooting 1.) The controller still can’t work after installing the software and hardware . z Check whether the controller cable is strongly connected to PC; z Make sure that the indication of the option “Game Port Controller” in the “Game Controller” in menu “Control Panel” is “Confirmation”, and “Controller ID” shows “1”. z Make sure that controller’s I/O setting value has no conflict with the other peripheral setting. z Restar PC if the controller still cannot work. 2.) The”Wireless USB Joystick” driving program can’t be installed or there is no response while testing the controller after installation. z DirectX Version is too low. A version of DirectX 7.0 or up is required 3.) There is no vibration from motor while playing racing games. z Exit the game and reenter it.( Do not draw or plug the USB controller during the game operation ) z If it still cannot work normally, restart your PC. 4.) Some analog axis can go into effect automatically after entering into the games. z Does the controller has no calibration or or has not been confirmed after calibrations. ? z Enter Option Controllers Dead Zone to adjust the range of the dead zone to keep the axis within the range of dead zone. Function Zone Dead Zone Function Zone Axis Axis 5.) The motor keeps on vibrating while playing the games. z Enter FORCE FEEDBACK and turn down or turn off the engine. Engine 6.) The intensity of the motor vibration becomes weak after entering the games. z Enter FORCE FEEDBACK and adjust the intensity of STICK VOLUME and ROAD EFFECTS to be stronger. 7.) You feel it difficult to make the corrections on testing platform. z Press “Default” first, and then press “Set”. 8.) There is no vibration from motor on testing platform. z DirectX Version is too low. A version of DirectX 7.0 or up is required. 9.) No controller driving program can be found after plug the controller. into PC. z When windows requires to specify some file path during the previous Driver installation, it jumped over the file or specified wrong files. z Solution: after inserting the device, delete the devices such as “man-machine port equipment” ,“Somatological Input Equipment”, “Hidclass” or the corresponding controller’s devices with exclamation mark under the menu of” sound, video and game controller “ , then re-insert the controller and you’ll find its driving program. 10.) Operational Description

Wireless Gamepad for PC Theory of Operation 08/20/2004 . 1. Dongle Side Radio The radio system is mainly composed of three parts: radio modem, frequency synthesizer and baseband microprocessor. The radio is interfaced with PC via a 4-pin connector. PC sends a command to the radio every 16 milliseconds. The radio takes the data from PC, packetize the data by adding preambles, frame information, and error checking bytes. The packetized frame is transmitted to the wireless gamepad. When gamepad replies, this radio receives the data, un-packetize it, and sends to PC. The radio modem is a FSK modem running at 250 kbps with GFSK encoding to avoid frequency drifting. Frequency is controlled by a frequency synthesizer which adjusts a voltage-controlled RF oscillator dynamically for accurate frequency management. A total of 79 channels can be selected conversing the frequency range of 2.402 – 2.480GHz. The antenna is an embedded PCB antenna matching is done by using lumped inductors and capacitors. The radio is a half-duplex system and is powered by a 5V -> 3.3V regulator, power source provided by PC. The total average power consumption of the radio system is about 25 mA at 3.3V. 2. Gamepad Side Radio Gamepad side radio operates in similar way to Dongle Side Radio as described in previous section. A total of 79 channels can be selected conversing the frequency range of 2.402 – 2.480GHz.. It scans keystrokes on the gamepad. Similarly, the data is packetized in the same way as Station Side Radio. The joypad radio is powered by 4-AAA size batteries and down regulated to 3.0V. Another provides power for two vibration motors in the gamepad.
