The BeaconBuoy requires a full 15 hours of uninterrupted charging time on its first charge to condition the battery properly for future use. The first charge should be completed indoors on a regular household circuit. The life and performance of your BeaconBuoy will be extended if you always keep your light charging in a warm dry place when not in use, even over extended periods of time such as the winter months. Power consumption is minimal during the storage phase and there is no risk of over charging. Battery life is extended if this practice is followed. Before using this product, read and follow all warning notices and instructions enclosed. Failure to follow safety warnings and instructions can result in severe injury, death or property damage. Save these instructions for future use. The battery must be fully and properly conditioned before using a 12 volt charging source, like a car, boat, trailer, RV and/or ATV. Once conditioned the batteries will recharge in approximately 8 to 12 hours, depending on the age of the batteries and the pre-charge power level.
