English User Manual Benutzerhandbuch Manual d ́utilisation Modo de uso Manuale di istruzione Uživatelská příručka English Introduction Introduction to the Bluetooth wireless technology. Bluetooth is a wireless communication technology with a short range. It enables wireless connections between Bluetooth devices, e.g. mobile telephones, personal digital Assistants (PDA), Desktop and laptop PC, input/output devices (mouse, keyboard, printer) and household devices. Bluetooth conforms to a world-wide standard for use on the internationally recognised ISM frequency band (Industrial Scientific & Medical). Within the ISM range (2.4 GHz to 2.48 GHz) Bluetooth transmits 1,600 times per second between 79 separate frequencies with a data communication range of approximately 10 meters (class II). Bluetooth-headphone B-Speech®Kyon The B-Speech®Kyon is equipped with the newest Bluetooth 1.2 technology. It is compatible with other Bluetooth devices, as, for example, mobile telephones, Desktop or laptop, PDA (with an audio gateway profile) within a range of 10 meters. Package contents - B-Speech®Kyon Bluetooth headphone - Power unit - Neck strip - User manual Functions 1. Charging socket 2. Multifunction key (On/Off/Talk/Pairing key) 3. Volume + 4. Volume - 5. LED display 6. Microphone 7. Ear hook, wearable on both sides. 1 6 2 3 5 4 7 English Charging of the integrated battery. Your B-Speech®Kyon Bluetooth headphone has a rechargeable lithium polymer battery. This must be charged for at least 2 hours before first use of the device. A fully charged battery ensures a speech duration of 7 hours and a Standby duration of approximately 150 hours. 1. Connect the power unit with a mains socket. 2. Plug the small power unit into the charging socket. 3. The red LED lights up while charging. The LED goes out and the device automaticely switched off when the loading is completed. You can then disconnect the power unit from the headphone and the socket. Turning the headphone on and off. On Press the Multifunction key for about 2 seconds until the green LED flashes 5 times. The headphone is now on. Off Press the Multifunction key for about 3 seconds until the red LED flashes 5 times. The headphone is now off. Pairing the headphone You must pair your B-Speech®Kyon Bluetooth-Headphone with your mobile phone (introduce them to each other) before being able to use them. This procedure has 2 steps: One step is implemented with the headphone, the other with the mobile phone. Please note that the pairing methods depends on the type of mobile phone. To pair your B-Speech®Kyon Bluetooth headphone: 1. With the headphone off, press on the Multifunction key for about 3 seconds. The LED flashes alternatively green and red indicating that the headphone is in pairing mode. 2. Look for a Bluetooth audio device in the menu of your mobile phone. The phone should now show that it found the “Kyon”. Confirm that the mobile phone and the headphone should be paired. If you are not sure how to process the pairing on your mobile phone, please refer to the mobile phone hand book. 3. When asked for a PIN number, please type 1234. Your mobile phone will confirm that the pairing process was successful. Note: If after approximately two minutes no pairing has been possible, the headphone will be automatically turned off and also any previous pairing (if there was one). You will have to repeat the steps 1 to 3, until the pairing process is successful. English Calling To call over the mobile phone. Once your mobile phone is paired with the headphone, you can call from your mobile as usual. The only difference being the use of the earphone and microphone of the head unit instead of using the microphone and loudspeaker of the mobile phone. Voice dial over the headphone For you to use voice dialling through the headphone, your mobile phone must support this feature and appropriate voice samples must have been stored. Voice dialling (dialling using a name) 1. Turn your headphone on and pair it with your mobile phone (if you have not done so already) 2. Press the Multifunction key for about 1 second until your hear a “DU” tone. 3. You can hear a short signal. Speak the name of the person you want to call. 4. Your phone now dials the corresponding phone number. Redial Press on the volume + and – keys simultaneously for about 3 seconds while your headphone is on standby (no conversation running) until you hear a Di-Du tone. Your mobile phone will dial the last called number again. Note: This function only works with Bluetooth mobile phones supporting the Handsfree profile. Take on a call When a call comes in, you can hear a signal in the headphone. Press the Multifunction key for 1 second to accept the call. Terminate a call Press the Multifunction key 3 seconds till a “Du” sound comes to terminate a call. If the conversing partner terminates the call first, communication is closed down automatically. SPORTON International Inc. 6F, No.106, Sec. 1, Hsin Tai Wu Rd., Hsi Chih, Taipei Hsien, Taiwan, R.O.C. Document No.: 612022 RF Exposure Test Report Date: Mar. 11, 2006 FCC ID: TSJDP06KYON Sporton International Inc. Maximum Permissible Exposure Test Report for Kyon 1.0 Introduction The report has been prepared on behalf of INNOMAX WIRELESS CO., LTD. Bluetooth Headset to show compliance with the RF Exposure. 1.1 Requirements Three different categories of transmitters are defined by the FCC in OET Bulletin 65. These categories are fixed installation, mobile and portable and are defined as follows: ƒ Fixed installation: fixed location means that the device, including its antenna, is physically secured at a permanent location and is not able to be easily moved to another location. Additionally, distance to humans form the antenna is maintained to at least 2 meters. ƒ Mobile Devices: a mobile device is defined as a transmitting device designed to be used in other than fixed locations and to be generally used in such a way that a separation distance of at least 20 centimeters is normally maintained between the transmitter’s radiating structures and the body of the user or nearby persons. Transmitters designed to be used by consumers or workers that can be easily re-located, such as a wireless modem operating in a laptop computer, are considered mobile devices if they meet the 20 centimeter separation requirement. The FCC rules for evaluating mobile devices for RF compliance are found in 47 CFR 2.1091. ƒ Portable Devices: a portable device is defined as a transmitting device designed to be used so that the radiating structure(s) of the device is/are within 20 centimeters of the body of the user. Portable device requirements are found in Section 2.1093 of the FCC’s Rules (47 CFR 2.1093) For this test report the INNOMAX WIRELESS CO., LTD. Kyon is being done as a mobile device and the MPE is evaluated at the 20cm test distance. The FCC also categorizes the use of the device as based upon the user’s awareness and ability to Document No.: 612022 RF Exposure Test Report Date: Mar. 11, 2006 FCC ID: TSJDP06KYON Sporton International Inc. exercise control over his or her exposure. The two categories defined are Occupational/Controlled Exposure and General Population/Uncontrolled Exposure. These two categories are defined as follows: ƒ Occupational/controlled Exposure: In general, occupational/controlled exposure limits are applicable to situation in which persons are exposed as a consequence of their employment, who have been made fully aware of the potential for exposure. Awareness of the potential for RF exposure in a workplcae or similar environment can be provided through specific training as part of a RF safety program. If appropriate, warning signs and labels can also be used to establish such awareness by providing prominent information on the risk of potential exposure and instructions on methods to minimize such exposure risks. ƒ General Population/Uncontrolled Exposure: The general population / uncontrolled exposure limits are applicable to situations in which the general public may be exposed or in which persons who are exposed as a consequence of their employment may not be made fully aware of the potential for exposure or cannot exercise control over their exposure. Members of the general public would come under this category when exposure is not employment-related; for example, in the case of a wireless transmitter that exposes persons in its vicinity. Warning labels placed on low-power consumer devices such as cellular telephones are not considered sufficient to allow the device to be considered under the occupational/controlled category, and the general population/uncontrolled exposure limits apply to these devices. Since there are no warnings or training associated with this unit and it can be used by anyone, Bluetooth Headset is evaluated to the General Population / Uncontrolled Exposure limits. 1.2 Radio Frequency Radiation Exposure Evaluation For this device, the calculation is as follows: ¾ No Evaluation Required if power is below this threshold: F (GHz) MW dBm 2.48 24.19 13.84 Maximum measured transmitter power for the EUT: Document No.: 612022 RF Exposure Test Report Date: Mar. 11, 2006 FCC ID: TSJDP06KYON Sporton International Inc. Pout (dBm) -1.01 Threshold for no RF Exposure evaluation is 13.84 dBm. Transmitter power of this device is -1.01 dBm Conclustion: No RF Exposure evaluation required since Transmitter Pout is below FCC threshold.
