Use the 2.4GHz antennas to access 2.4GHz radio (IEEE 802.11b/g/n) signals and the 5GHz antennas to access 5GHz radio (IEEE 802.11a/n/ac/ax) signals. To use both radio frequencies concurrently, use all 11 WiFi antennas. Follow this procedure to install the antennas. 1. Insert the antenna base firmly into the appropriate antenna mount. 2. Securely hand tighten the fastening collar 3. Repeat for the remaining antennas 7 Follow this procedure to attach the unit to a wall using the supplied equipment. 1. Mark the location of the mounting bolt holes on a flat wall surface, using the wall-mount base as a template. 2. Drill mounting holes in the marked locations and hammer the bolts into the openings. 3. Attach the wall-mount base to the back of the access point using the mounting screws. 8 Wall Mounting FAP-U432F 4. Attach the access point onto the wall using the mounting bolts and secure the mounting base to the wall. 9 Follow this procedure to attach the unit to a pole vertically or horizontally using the supplied pole mount bracket and straps. 1. Attach the wall-mount base to the back of the device and then attach the pole-mount bracket to the wall-mount base using the mounting screws. 10 Pole Mounting FAP-U432F 3. Loop the pole straps through the slots on the bracket and then around the pole. The pole mounting straps can be attached for either vertical or horizontal mounting. 4. Tighten the straps with screws to attach the unit securely to the pole. 11 12 The weatherproof connects are provided for the LAN ports to ensure a watertight seal for connecting the Ethernet cable to the device. 1. Unscrew the coupling ring from the waterproof connector, remove the sealing gland, and thread the RJ-45 plug through the connector components. 2. Insert the RJ-45 plug into the PoE port on the unit and install the weatherproof panel connector onto the threaded coupling at the port. Installing Weatherproof Connectors 3. Slide the sealing gland along the cable into panel connector. 4. Thread the coupling ring onto the panel connector and tighten it until the sealing gland is compressed, making a watertight seal on the cable. 13 About FAP-U234F IMPORTANT: Supported only from FortiWLC Release 8.6.2 or later and FortiGate with FortiOS Release 6.4.4 and later.
