The base station may be mounted upright (A), sideways (B) or on the ceiling (C). Caution: Electrostatic discharge (ESD) can damage your Fortinet equipment. 1 Installation Mounting the handset charger cradle The handset charger cradle can be wall mounted using two screws (not included) set 36mm apart. Connect the bases to an IEEE 802.3af compliant PoE hub or switch. Installing the handset battery 1. Remove the back cover of the handset. 2. Properly insert the battery as illustrated in the image below. 3. Reattach the back cover of the handset. Configure the FON-D72 extensions on the FortiVoice. 2. On the FON-D71-H handsets press the Reg softkey. 3. The handsets will display their name and extension number on screen. 2 Setting up the Phone Using as an external device 1. Enter the IP address of the FON-D72-M into a web browser. 2. Enter admin as the Username and 23646 as the Password. 3. Go to Settings > Auto Provision. 4. In the Server URL, enter the public IP address or FQDN of the FortiVoice. 5. Click Confirm. 6. On the FON-D71-H handsets press the Reg softkey. 7. The handsets will display their name and extension number on screen.
