Canada V6V 2C3 December 11, 2007 Request for Modular Approval Attestation for the Océ Display Graphics Systems # 3010105668 RFID module. Per the FCC Public Notice DA-00-1407 for Part 15 Unlicensed Modular Transmitter approval the following information is provided: 1) “The modular transmitter must have it’s own shield.” There are four shields present on the PCB, each covering a section of ODGS RFID. Only the RF Antenna from the RF section of the module is exposed outside the shielding. 2) “The modular transmitter must have buffered modulation/data inputs”. Input signal buffered by the Xilinx XC2C64A CoolRunner-II CPLD. The controlling device cannot cause an over-modulated condition. 3) “The modular transmitter must have it’s own power supply regulation.” ODGS RFID has it’s own power supply regulation via linear regulators U12 and U13. 4) “The modular transmitter must comply with the antenna requirements of Section 15.203 and 15.204(c).” The device consists of a Xilinx XC2C64A CoolRunner-II CPLD, a CLRC63201TD Phillips Contactless Reader, 15V and 5V linear regulators , SPI Interface, and one RF section. RF section is composed of an RFID driver, antennae multiplexer, and 13.56 MHz clock oscillator, with impedance-matching networks and RFID interrogator 4-turn coil antenna. The CPLD multiplexes each RF section as commanded by the host system on the SPI. Grounding is provided by on-board ground planes and an internal ground layers. 5) “The modular transmitter must be tested in a stand-alone configuration, i.e., must not be inside another device during testing.” The ODGS RFID 3010105668 was tested as a standalone device, not inside any other equipment 6) “The modular transmitter must be labeled with it’s own FCC ID number...” The MC13192U provides it’s own FCC ID label on the “describe location” Detailed installation instructions are provided in the user manual for the module. 7) “The modular transmitter must comply with any specific rule or operating requirements applicable to the transmitter and the manufacturer must provide adequate instructions...” The ODGS RFID OIN #3010105668 user manual explains the requirements for operating the ODGS RFID OIN #3010105668 module in compliance with the FCC rules and registration. 8) “The modular transmitter must comply with any applicable RF exposure requirements.” The ODGS RFID OIN #3010105668 user manual explains in the RF exposure hazard associated with use of the module and preventive measures.
