FCC ID: U2P-025 IC: 6947A-025 Océ Display Graphics Systems 13231 Delf Place Building #501 Richmond, British Columbia. Canada V6V 2C3 February 7, 2007 Request for Modular Approval Attestation for the OCE model 25 RFID module. Per the FCC Public Notice DA-00-1407 for Part 15 Unlicensed Modular Transmitter approval the following information is provided: 1) “The modular transmitter must have it’s own shield.” There are four shields present on the PCB, each covering a section of the 5 port reader.. Only the RF Antenna from the RF section of the module is exposed outside the shielding. 2) “The modular transmitter must have buffered modulation/data inputs”. Input signal buffered by the PIC microcontroller. The controlling device cannot cause an over-modulated condition. 3) “The modular transmitter must have it’s own power supply regulation.” 5 Port Reader has it’s own power supply regulation via U7. 4) “The modular transmitter must comply with the antenna requirements of Section 15.203 and 15.204(c).” The device consists of a PIC microcontroller, 5V linear regulator, RS 232 driver and 5 discrete RF sections. Each RF section is composed of an RFID driver trip and 13.56 MHz clock oscillator, with impedance-matching networks and RFID interrogator 4-turn coil antenna. The PIC enables/disables each RF section as commanded by the host system on the RS 232 bus. Grounding is provided by on-board ground planes and an internal ground layer. 5) “The modular transmitter must be tested in a stand-alone configuration, i.e., must not be inside another device during testing.” The Colder Products Part Number 2454900 was tested as a standalone device, not inside any other equipment 6) “The modular transmitter must be labeled with it’s own FCC ID number...” The MC13192U provides it’s own FCC ID label on the “describe location” Detailed installation instructions are provided in the user manual for the module. 7) “The modular transmitter must comply with any specific rule or operating requirements applicable to the transmitter and the manufacturer must provide adequate instructions...” The Colder Products Part Number 2454900 user manual explains the requirements for operating the Colder Products Part Number 2454900 module in compliance with the FCC rules and registration. 8) “The modular transmitter must comply with any applicable RF exposure requirements.” The Colder Products Part Number 2454900 user manual explains in the RF exposure hazard associated with use of the module and preventive measures.
