Users Manual

2 FCC Information to User This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates, uses and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation. If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one of the following measures: •Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna. •Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver. •Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the receiver is con-nected. •Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for help. 3 FCC Information to User Caution Modifications not expressly approved by the party responsible for compliance could void the user’s authority to operate the equipment. FCC Compliance Information : This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) This device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) this device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation The users manual or instruction manual for an intentional or unintentional radiator shall caution the user that changes or modifications not expressly approved by the party responsible for compliance could void the user's authority to operate the equipment. In cases where the manual is provided only in a form other than paper, such as on a computer disk or over the Internet, the information required by this section may be included in the manual in that alternative form, provided the user can reasonably be expected to have the capability to access information in that form. 4 FCC RF EXPOSURE INFORMATION In August 1996 the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) of the United States with its action in Report and Order FCC 96-326 adopted an updated safety standard for human exposure to radiofrequency (RF) electromagnetic energy emitted by FCC regulated transmitters. Those guidelines are consistent with the safety standard previously set by both U.S. and international standards bodies. The design of this MC- 7100S complies with the FCC guidelines and these international standards. Use only the supplied or an approved antenna. Unanthorizedantennas, modifications, or attachments could impair call quality, damaged your “MC-7100S ”, or result in violation of FCC regulations. Do not use the phone with a damaged antenna. If a damaged antenna comes into contact with the skin, a minor burn may result. Please contact your local dealer for replacement antenna. This device was tested for typical body-worn operations with the back of the device kept 2cm from the body. To maintain compliance requirements, use only belt-clips, holsters or similar accessories that maintain a 2 cm separation distance between the user’s Body and the back of the phone, including the antenna. The use of belt-clips, holsters and similar accessories should not contain metallic components in its assembly. The use of accessories that do not satisfy these requirements may not comply with FCC RF exposure requirements, and should be avoided. For more information about RF exposure, please visit the FCC website at www.fcc.gov. 5 Note lThis manual is subject to copyright protection along with all relevant rights. lNo part of this document can be copied, reproduced, changed or translated in whole or in part by any means without prior written consent of M3 Mobile Co., Ltd. lThe content of the manual is provided “as-is” and be subject to change at any time without notice. lM3 Mobile Co., Ltd. makes no warranty of any kind with regard to this manual, including, but not limited to, the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. lMicrosoft, ActiveSync, Windows, Windows logos, Windows Mobile 5.0 logos are trademarks, or registered trademarks of Microsoft Corporation in the United States and/or other countries. Output power listed is conducted; the maximum ERP measured is 0.87 watt for GSM850 band and the maximum EIRP measured is 1.16 watt for PCS1900 band described in this filing. SAR compliance for body-worn operating configurations is limited to the specific configurations tested for filings under this FCC ID. For satisfying FCC RF exposure compliance requirements, body-worn operations are restricted to belt-clips, holsters or similar accessories that have no metallic component in the assembly and must provide at least 2.0 cm separation between the device, including its antenna, and the user's body. End-users must be informed of the body-worn operating requirements for satisfying RF exposure compliance. The highest reported SAR values for this filing under this FCC ID are: Part 22H-Head: 0.795 W/kg, Body: 0.198 W/kg; Part 24E-Head: 0.992 W/kg, Body 0.279 W/kg. This device also contains functions that are not operational in U.S. Territories. This filing is only applicable for US operations. This device does not contain Personal/Portable Hot-Spot functionality.
