Cedarburg, WI 53012 RE: FCC ID UUC-05 certification request Dear Ms. White, The SimonsVoss WaveNet network system is a wireless network designed to allow a personal computer to configure, monitor, and control a system of electronic locks produced by SimonsVoss Technologies. Starting at the lock, the Lock Node routes messages from the lock either directly to a central node or through a series of routers to the central node. The routers may just repeat the signal (to achieve greater distances) or convert the signal to other media (from 915 MHz to RS485). The Central Node then communicates to the personal computer through RS-232 or TCP/IP protocols. Each node in the WaveNet network, including the Lock Node, Routers, and Central Node must be programmed with its proper address and frequency at our factory before installation. This means that an installing dealer must conduct a site survey, prepare the proper installation plan, and convey this to the factory with the purchase order. The system is then shipped to the installing dealer for installation. SimonsVoss will sell the WaveNet network only to qualified dealers and integrators. SimonsVoss does not sell any products direct to end users. The second paragraph of section 1.0 of the WaveNet manual reads “Installation of a SimonsVoss RF Lock requires knowledge in the areas of door mechanics, door certifications, installation of electronics and the use of the SimonsVoss software. For this reason, only trained and authorized personnel should install the unit.” I trust that this answers the question about installation, but feel free to contact me if there are any remaining questions. Best regards, Warren Simonsen VP Marketing and Operations SimonsVoss Technologies, Inc.
