If held for 3.5 seconds, it will panic the system. Please take these safety precautions into consideration under the fo l - lowing conditions : 1. Servicing the vehicleWhen servicing your automobile (i.e. changing the oil, washing your car), the MAGICAR system should be in Valet Mode. There is a safety shutdown switch under the hood that deactivates the remote starter function if the hood is open. However, if theswitch has been damaged or the switch has been installed improp erly,the vehicle may start when the button is pressed for 2 seconds, even if the hood is open. 2. Loaning your vehicle to others Whenever you loan your vehicle to an individual who is not familiar with MAGICAR , you may want to put the vehicle in Valet mode. This will prevent the borrower from accidentally activating theMAGICAR auto-security system. 3. For manual transmission vehicles If the MAGICAR is installed in a manual transmission vehicle, extra precautions are required because the MAGICAR does not monitor the gear shifter : Importan t ! Under normal circumstances, Reservatio n Mode is cancelled when a door or hatchback opens. Please verif y that the opening of any door or hatchback cancels Reservatio n Mode. If any of the doors or hatchback are not monitored by th e MAGICAR because of improper installation or a faulty dome ligh t switch, do not use the MAGICAR and take your vehicle immediat e - ly to the dealer for repair . Do not set Reservation Mode if the window(s) are open or if ther e is anyone inside the vehicle, this includes animals. One-Way Remote Owner's Manual Safety Information 3 The MAGICAR system will allow up to three remotes to be programmed to one vehicle, and each remote can be programmed to two vehicles. Please per-form the following procedure to add or reprogram new or existing remotes. Remote Learn Routine N ote : " " : Means, to press the button for 2 seconds. " ( ) " : Means, to simultaneously press the buttons. " ( ) " : Means to simultaneously press the buttons for 2 second s . 2nd car for 30 Seconde One-Way Remote Owner's Manual 6 Important Requirements to activate Reservation Mode - The transmission must be in the NEUTRAL position. - The vehicle windows must be rolled up. - Do not set the reservation mode with people in the vehicle. - Do not auto-start the vehicle with people inside it . Activating Reservation Mode ( MANUAL TRANSMISSION ONLY ) St e p 1 : Af te r a rr i v i ng at your d e s ti n ati on, a n d B E FOR E T URNING YOUR E NGIN E O F F , place the t r an s mi ss ion i n the N e u t r al p os itio n . St e p 2 : Activate the parking brake . St e p 3 : Remove your foot from the foot brake . St e p 4 : Remove the key from the ignition, and the engine wil l remain running . St e p 5 : Exit the vehicle and close the door within tw o minutes after activating the parking brake. The engine wil l shut off and reservation mode for the remote starter is now comp l ete . One-Way Remote Owner's Manual 5 St e p 1 : Activate Valet/ Programming mode by man- ually turning the ignition on then off (between Acc an d On ) five times within seven seconds. The parking lights will flash once with successful completion of this step. St e p 2 : Within a seven second period after cycling the ignition for the 5 th time, Press the button for a 1 / 2 second. The vehicle parking lights will flash once to confirm that the transmitter has beenprogrammed. You can continue programming the additional remotes at This Time. The parking lights will flash two times when the program-ming mode has expired. In order to auto-start your manual transmission vehicle, you must firs t set th e MAGICA R system to Reservation Mode before leaving you r vehicle. The purpose of Reservation Mode is to leave the transmissio n gear in the neutral position when you leave your vehicle. Reservatio n mode is intended for use on MANUAL TRANSMISSIONS ONLY and NOT FOR AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS. Reservation Mod e must be engaged each and every time you leave your manual transmi s - sion vehicle in order to auto-start it . Reservation Mode (manual transmission only) Note : T h e sys tem i s no t r ec o mme nd e d for ma nu al t r a ns mi s - s i on v e h icle s w it h r em ov a b le or c onv e r ti b le t ops . While the vehicle is in valet mode, the only features that will fun cti o n will be the keyless entry and optional auxiliary function s . In ord e r t o enter Valet mode, press thebuttons simultaneously for a 1/2second. In order to manually enter Valet Mode, insert your key into the ign i - tion and turn the ignition on and off (between ACC and ON ) five time s within 7 second s Valet Mode To program remote to a secondary vechicle, press the and button s simultaneously for 2.5 senconds. The LED on the remote will begin to flas h once every two seconds, for 30 seconds. This is the 2nd car mode.
