305 Commerce Drive Moorestown, NJ 08057-4234 Phone:(856)727-1100 Fax:(856)222-4847 Attention: Application Examiner Re: Request for limited Modular Approval Applicant: OPEX Corporation FCC ID: VDM2032610, VDM2033210 IC ID: 7175A-2032610, 7175A-2033210 This letter requests authorization of an unlicensed, low power “transmitter module” for operation under FCC Part 15 and RSS-210 Rules. Specifically requested is a “Limited Modular Approval.” 1. This modular transmitter doesn’t have its own RF shielding. 2. This modular transmitter has buffered modulation/data inputs. 3. This modular transmitter has its own power supply regulation. 4. This modular transmitter complies with the antenna requirements of Section 15.203 and 15.204(c). The antenna employs a “unique” antenna coupler (at all connections between the module and the antenna, including the cable). 5. The modular transmitter was tested in a stand-alone configuration. The modular transmitter complies with the AC line conducted requirements. AC or DC power lines and data input/output lines connected to the module do not contain ferrites. 6. The modular transmitter is labeled with its own FCC ID and IC ID. 7. The modular transmitter complies with FCC Part 15.249 and RSS-210 Rules. 8. The modular transmitter complies with any applicable RF exposure requirements. Compliance with one or more of the numbered requirements, listed above, could not be demonstrated; therefore a “Limited Modular Approval” (LMA) is requested. The Grantee will retain control over the final installation of the device, such that compliance of the end product is assured. In such a case, an operating condition on the grant of equipment authorization for the module is requested to state that the module is only approved for use when installed in devices produced by a the Grantee. This letter is making clear the fact that LMA is requested. The Grantee is in control of the design, manufacture and installation of the modular transmitter and ensures compliance. Sincerely, Michael Powell OPEX Corporation Compliance Engineer
