Q U I C K S T A R T G U I D E Bluetooth wireless is a quick and easy way to connect a smartphone to a speaker or a headset. There are basically two steps to making Bluetooth work. PAIRING: The two devices get to know each other. CONNECTING: The two devices do something together (like play music). “Hi. I’m a phone.” This guide takes you through the steps to get started. Getting to know Bluetooth “Hi phone. I’m a speaker.” 1 Make sure the following items came in this package. Step 1: Unpack Your speaker AC adapter Audio cable 2 Step 2: Charge Before you start using the HEX TL speaker for the first time, it’s a good idea to charge it completely. To charge the speaker: Plug the included AC adapter into the DC IN jack on the back of the speaker. Plug the other end of the AC adapter into a wall outlet. Speaker back The BATTERY indicator on the top of the speaker is red while the speaker is charging. It turns green when the speaker is fully charged. Note: You can use the speaker while it’s charging. 3 BATTERYSTATUS Step 3: Turn on Press the button on top of the speaker to turn it on. The speaker gives an audio signal and the STATUS indicator light on top of the speaker starts blinking. BATTERYSTATUS BATTERYSTATUS Speaker top If this is the first time you’re using the speaker, it automatically goes to Bluetooth pairing mode to set up with your smartphone. 4 Enable Bluetooth on your smartphone or other device. Step 4: Pair + Connect If you’ve previously paired your phone or other Bluetooth device with this speaker, the speaker will automatically attempt to reconnect to that device when you switch the speaker on. If you want to pair to a new device, press and hold the PAIR button on the speaker until the speaker gives an audio signal. This range may vary, however, based on other factors, such as room layout, wall material, obstacles, your device’s Bluetooth performance, etc. If you’re having problems connecting to this speaker, move closer to it. • Make sure your device supports audio transfer A2DP. • If your device asks you for a password to connect, use “0000”. Choose 808 Hex TL from the pairing options on your smartphone. (If it’s not in the list, choose “Scan” from your phone’s Bluetooth menu.) Headset 808 Hex TL Computer 8:45P M Bluetoot h devices The speaker gives an audio signal when it’s finished pairing and connecting to your smartphone. The STATUS indicator on the top of the speaker turns solid blue. Note: The process of enabling Bluetooth and connecting varies from device to device. See your device’s owners manual for more information and specific instructions. 6 To adjust the volume of your audio: Use the — and + buttons on top of the speaker. You can also use the volume controls on your phone. Set your device’s volume for music to 75%. Note: This is to make sure the sound from the speaker isn’t too loud when you start streaming. Start playing music or other audio on your device. Within seconds, the speaker starts streaming the audio wirelessly via Bluetooth. Technical Description The brief circuit description is listed as below: 1) U5 acts as 2.4GHz RF Module (BS851). 2) U2 acts as MCU (SN8P2722). 3) U1 and U3 act Voltage Regulators (XZ3303, XZ1803). 4) U4 acts as Audio Amplifier (PAM8006A). 5) U101 acts as Battery Charger (HR6912). 6) U6 acts as Audio Processor (2314). 7) X1 acts as a Crystal for U5. Antenna Type: Internal antenna Antenna Gain: 0dBi Nominal rated field strength: 96.7 dBμV/m at 3m Maximum allowed field strength of production tolerance: +/- 3dB
Analysis Report The Equipment Under Test (EUT) is a 2.4GHz Bluetooth 3.0 transceiver speaker. The EUT is power by an AC Adapter (Model: K15S140100U; Input 100-240V, 50/60Hz, 0.5A; Output: 14.0V, 1.0A) and also contains an 11.1V rechargeable battery. The Bluetooth module in the EUT is operating in the frequency range from 2402MHz to 2480MHz (79 channels with 1MHz channel spacing). After pairing, the audio signal can be fed to the speaker. Also there is an Aux in for audio input. Antenna Type: Internal antenna Antenna Gain: 0dBi Nominal rated field strength: 96.7 dBμV/m at 3m Maximum allowed field strength of production tolerance: +/- 3dB According to the KDB 447498: Based on the Maximum allowed field strength of production tolerance was 99.7dBμV/m at 3m in frequency 2.4GHz, thus; The EIRP = [(FS*D) ^2*1000 / 30] = 2.80mW Conducted power = Radiated Power (EIRP) – Antenna Gain So; Conducted Power =2.80mW. The power density at 20cm = 2.80 *1.00/ 4πR 2 = 0.00056 mWcm-2 In the frequency range of 1,500 - 100,000MHz, the MPE limit is 1.0 mWcm -2 for general population and uncontrolled exposure. As the measured power density at 20cm from the transmitter is lower than the MPE limit, the compliance to the MPE limit can be ensured by indicating the minimum 20cm separation between the transmitter's radiating structures and body of the user or nearby persons. The following RF exposure statement is proposed to be included in the user manual: RF Exposure Warning This equipment must be installed and operated in accordance with provided instructions and the antenna(s) used for this transmitter must be installed to provide a separation distance of at least 20cm from all persons and must not be co-located or operating in conjunction with any other antenna or transmitter. End- users and installers must be provide with antenna installation instructions and transmitter operating conditions for satisfying RF exposure compliance.”
