Precautions of use Before using the reader/writer and card, read the following precautions. Be sure to adhere to the precautions to avoid malfunctions and failures caused by misuse. Note that we shall bear no responsibilities for collateral damages to the stored data caused by faults, malfunctions or failures of the reader/writer. Changes or modifications not expressly approved by the manufacturer for compliance could void the user’s authority to operate the equipment. 1. Installation in an enclosure Adhere to the following mounting dimensions when installing the board in an enclosure. Only the diagonally shaded area around the mounting hole may be metal. 6.0 6.0 R3 2/4 2. Care should be taken when modifying the card attributes and key settings When modifying the card attributes and key settings, the card must be in the reader/writer’s communication range. If the special data area is compromised due to insufficient power supply, access to the card will become infeasible thereafter. 3. Avoid using the reader/writer in the presence of strong electromagnetic waves The reader/writer supplies power to the card via an electromagnetic wave to communicate with the card. Presence of strong electromagnetic waves (especially waves with frequencies around 13.56 MHz) in the proximity of the reader/writer or card will affect communication between the reader/writer and card, causing reduced access area or inability to access the card. Similarly, if the switching frequencies (and its harmonics) of a switching mode power supply, or its backup switch-mode UPS/CVCF are around 13.56 MHz, switching noises will affect the reader/writer via wiring; be sure to test the reader/writer using the actual power source in the installation location environment before use. 4. Keep precision devices that may be affected by electromagnetic waves away from the reader/writer Since the reader/writer constantly emits an electromagnetic wave (of around 13.56 MHz), placing precision devices that may be affected by electromagnetic waves near the reader/writer can cause malfunction or failure of the devices. When operating the reader/writer, keep precision devices away from the reader/writer. If such precision devices must be located near the reader/writer, shield the precision devices with a metal cover and be sure to test the devices to check for any influence. 5. Avoid using multiple readers in proximity to each other The reader supplies power to the card via an electromagnetic wave to communicate with 3/4 the card and thus constantly emits an electromagnetic wave (of around 13.56 MHz). Using multiple readers in proximity to each other will cause interference, interrupt communication between the card and reader, and prevent access to the card. The readers must be apart from each other by at least 30 cm in every direction. Others - Use the reader/writer as a general-purpose communication tool (for terminals) such as OA devices. - Use the reader/writer in a place unaffected by organic solvents, oils or water. - Use the reader/writer in a place free of corrosive gases, toxic gases, or flammable gases. FCC/IC Statements This device complies with Part 15 of FCC Rules and Industry Canada licence-exempt RSS standard(s). Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) this device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) this device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation. The following sentence has to be displayed on the outside of the device in which the transmitter module is installed: “Contains FCC ID: VQ7TM10-B-QQ” “Contains transmitter module IC: 10795A-TM10BQQ” RF exposure information: This equipment complies with FCC/IC radiation exposure limits set forth for an uncontrolled environment. CAUTION: Any changes or modifications not expressly approved by the party responsible for compliance could void the users’ authority to operate this equipment. The only problem is that the label in that filing shows a wrong FCC ID: VQ7TM-B-QQ. Unfortunately, this was not captured at the time of review/upload. The manufacturer intends to swap the labels on the few (about 10) devices sold so far, and desire to continue with the correct label showing VQ7TM10-B-QQ. We have MiCOM TCB involved in this case, can we for example, have this filing put in TCB audit mode, so that we can swap the label for the correct one? And I can imagine that we would we need to upload an explanation letter too. Or are there other ways how we should solve this? Can you advise? Best Regards, Mark Koop Manager Teleconformity BV. In order to resolve this case we also need you to upload a letter signed by the applicant containing the following: The exact number of devices sold with the incorrect label. Details on how the manufacturer plans to provide correct labels to owners of units in the field. Details on how the manufacturer plans to update labels on any unsold units, including those that may be with third party sellers. The date by which the manufacturer expects to have this resolved Once that has been done please respond to this KDB. We will review the letter and close the audit if it is acceptable. Page 1 of 2 When the label replacement process is complete, please respond through this KDB with an update in order to close out this case. ---Reply from Customer on 10/17/2014--- Dear Sir/Ms, First of all, we will correct the label exhibit in the existing filing with FCC ID: VQ7TM10-B-QQ and label of the module as such from now on. To prevent any field action, the grantee wants to create another FCC ID (by means of Change ID) with the shorter FCC ID: VQ7TM-B-QQ that currently can be found in the field. This way, all modules in the field will be captured at once, and the problem can be solved. We would then of course place a letter in the original filing, explaining this solution. Dear Mandy, Bill told me to contact you for this, kindly allow me to explain: Back in time we uploaded a label with a wrong FCC ID under this tracker, TLCT532. Meanwhile the grantee has sold this device with wrong label on it. I explained the situation to the FCC people by KDB inquiry, see attached document KDB245147.pdf As result of this discussion, the FCC has already put the original filing with FCC ID: VQ7TM10-B-QQ (that contains the wrong label) in TCB AUDIT mode, so that we will be able to add the attached updated label and the explanatory letter. So we need to add two exhibits here. Can you help to put these two exhibits in this closed tracker? Once done (as you can read in the KDB discussion) we ̈change ID ̈ this FCC ID to the shorter FCC ID: VQ7TM-B-QQ which job I already have uploaded in the new tracker TLCT1366. There are two scenarios which come to mind: (1.) we create a brand new filing with the new ID, or (2.) we file a Change of ID pointing back to the original filing. The first option is cleaner but requires a little more work. The second option has slightly more risk since it is based upon an incorrectly identified device, but in the long run it may not matter – if caught we can simply feign ignorance and promise not to do it again. The FCC ID from the filing is VQ7TM10-B-QQ but the label misses the ̈10 ̈ in between, see attached screen-shot of the label below. I was thinking this can be done either in audit mode, or maybe by a class2 change. However with class2 change the original entry will still contain the wrong label. What would you advise?
