Within the Settings' menu, press X on Accessory Settings. 4. At the next screen, prepare your headset (from off) to be paired by holding down the power button continuously until the LEDs flash alternate Blue & Red. When it is connected the LEDs will flash Blue every 2 seconds. If not connected, it will flash blue every 4 seconds. 2. Press X on the icon labelled: Manage Bluetooth® Device. 5. Press X to Start Scanning. Once the scan is complete, the PS3™ will recognise all Bluetooth® wireless technology devices within range. 3. Press X on Yes to register your Bluetooth® Device. 6. Locate PS3 EX-03 from the list of available devices and press X. 3 SECONDS PAIRING | 05 7. Press X, enter 0000 (four zeros) as the Pass Key & press X on OK. 10. Scroll down and press X on Audio Device Settings. 8. You will be taken to a new screen stating: Register completed. 11. Choose PS3 EX-03 as your input and output device from the lists. Press X to confirm your choices. 9. Press O twice on your controller to go back to Accessory Settings. 12. Scroll down and press X on OK. Your EX-03 Bluetooth® Headset is now ready to use.. Enjoy :) set up The EX-03 Bluetooth® headset is designed for maximum flexibility and comfort. You can mold the earhook to size and choose from 3 different earbuds for the perfect fit. Simply follow the instructions below for details. 06 | SET UP ear bud fitting Take the size of ear bud that you want to use and place the ear bud on the back edge of the stalk (01). Apply pressure then roll the ear bud onto the stalk of the earpiece (02). 01 02 03 SET UP | 07 headset positioning For a comfortable fit, hold the EX-03 body (01) and flex the earhook upwards (02) looping it around your ear (03). Once the earhook is in position, carefully place the speaker into your ear (04) and make any final adjustments so that the headset is firmly in position. Finally, maneuver the microphone arm into place where you feel it offers maximum voice clarity. 01 02 04 EX-03 BODY 08 | CHARGING charging your headset The headset contains a rechargeable Lithium-ion battery. Prior to using the headset for the first time, it is strongly recommended to fully charge the battery for 3 hours. Connect the USB cable to your PS3™ (01) and insert the DC connector (02) into the headset (03). The LED will illuminate red during the charging process and will be blue when fully charged. NOTE: Charging indication will be delayed for a few minutes if the headset has not been used for a long time. game time The fully charged battery offers up to 6 hours continuous use. It is advisable to always recharge after lengthy gameplay so the headset is fully charged for the next round. charging time Normally the battery will be fully recharged within 3 hours. As soon as the battery is fully charged, the LED will be Blue. Do not try to pair the headset to the console, when the headset is charging. If it is charging, it will not pair to the PS3™. 01 02 03 operating your headset 1. To power on your headset, press and hold the power button until the LED flashes Blue. NOTE: If the LED flashes Red only, the battery will need to be charged. A low battery is also denoted by a low tone repeated every 20 seconds. 2. To power off your headset, press and hold the power button until the LED flashes Red. CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION 1. Schematic diagram description The EX3PS3 Bluetooth headset based on CSR BC6130A04 QFN chipset, It is support the headset profile and handfree profile. It is compliant to Bluetooth v2.1 + EDR specification. References to the document <The EX3PS3 Bluetooth Headset schematic diagram> U1(BC6130A04) is a single chip Radio and baseband IC for Bluetooth 2.4GHZ systems. it provides Bluetooth RF of the 2402-2480MHz Tx frequency, baseband and some power regulator functions. It is integrated DC +1.8V power supply. +1.8V uses for the PIO pull up such as the buttons. U2 is serial EERPOM, it use for store the configurations of MMI. XT1 is a crystal oscillator, provides 16M clock reference. EX3PS3 uses PCB copper antenna for RF transceiver. EX3PS3 has Blue and Red indicator lights to show different working state, and has MFB, Volume up, Volume Down buttons to operation the headset. 2．The Signal Path description When the EX3PS3 headset connects to a mobile phone , the built-in MCU will control the RF modem to process the baseband signal, indicate the working state by the LED. When uses the headset, the voice can be picked by microphone. There are Multi-function Button, Volume up button and Volume Down button for you to increase the volume or decrease the volume of the speaker.
