Altierre Corporation 1980 Concourse Drive San Jose, CA 95131 ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Class B digital devices β€œThis device complies with Part 15 of the FCC rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) this device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) this device must accept any interference received, including in terference that may cause undesired operation.” Changes or alterations to the Altierre ESL System not expressly approved by Altierre could void the user’s authority to operate the equipment. Note: This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to part 15 of the F CC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference when the equipm ent is operated in a commercial environment. This equipment g enerates, uses, and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instruction manual, ma y cause harmful interference to radio commun ications. Operation of this equipment in a residential area is likely to cause harmful interference in whic h case the user will be required to correct the interference at his own expense. β€œTo satisfy RF exposure requirements, this device and its antenn a must operate with a separation distance of at least 20 centi meters from all persons and must not be co-located or operating in conjunction with any other antenna or transmitter.” Altierre Confidential Page 3 AAP User Manual The Altierre Access Points or AAPs are the A ltierre radios that talk to the Altierre Electronic Store Signs (E-Signs) or Electr onic Shelf Labels (ESLs). These AAPs use a proprietary RF signa l to update the content on the Altierre E- Signs or ESLs. The Altierre Access Point RF uses the 2.4GHz ISM band with a frequenc y hopping proprietary protocol. This device has been designed to operate with the antennas listed below, and having a maximum gain of 7 dBi. Antennas not incl uded in this list or having a gain greater than 7 dBi are stric tly prohibited for use with this device. The required antenna impedance is 50 ohms. To reduce potential radio interference to ot her users, the antenna type an d its gain should be so chosen that the equivalent is otropically radiated power (e.i.r.p.) is not more than th at permitted for successful communication. The AAP radio antenna must be inst alled by a trained professional. Installation Step 1 Attach the AAP rail to the T-Bar ceiling using T-Bar ceiling clips. Step 2 Mount the AAP to the AAP rail. Step 3 Once the bracket is mounted to the ceiling pl ug the Sync wire and the POE wire into th e AAP and then slide it into place on the bracket Configuration Step 1 The DHCP server must be programmed in order to return the ASG Server IP address or domain name based on the VCI (Vender Class Identifier) of the AP. Step 2 Create a new vendor class in order to progr am the DHCP server to recognize the VCI altierre-aap-002 . In the MMC, right-click the DHCP server icon, and choose Define Vendor Classes .
